Whatโs your opinion for breast feeding mothers? My wife and I have been having this discussion as she is currently breast feeding and is expecting to have access to the vaccine next week. She is currently planning to refuse it.Tough question. Long-term, serious effects are extremely rare from mild viral infections, which is the usual course of CV19 in younger/healthy people. I don't know why we would expect this particular coronavirus to cause significantly-worse problems later in life than other viruses do.
On the flip side, most vaccines prove to be quite safe. I am most concerned with the unknowns surrounding the new mRNA technology. Additionally, it sounds like the short-term effects are a little worse than initially advertised: hospital employees are being advised to schedule their vaccination at the end of a shift that is followed by at least one or two off days, so they don't have to miss work. I also read two separate reports of several cases of Bell's palsy in vaccine recipients today.
I'm taking it, but then again I'm in my 60's and growing up a military brat and moving to Europe twice in the 60's I got vaccinated for stuff that hadn't been invented yet. I seldom if ever get sick, I had the flu once about 30 years ago and can't remember the last time I had a cold. I'm not paranoid that some vaccine which only stimulates my own immune system to create antibodies is going to kill me.
Scientists have recommended avoiding the vaccine if youโve had COVID because they arenโt sure if that can trigger a severe reaction.Trump is (still) our President. That makes him our supposed "leader" until January 20th. Yet, he refuses to "lead" by getting a COVID vaccine. Does this instill confidence in the vaccine? Not with me.
"Operation Warpspeed" is meaningless if most folks (including me) refuse to get the vaccine.
The White House has a bit of an optics issue here.
