Her company isn't following the close contact guidance correctly. Assuming that is that she avoided direct exposure to you of no more then 15 minutes a day.Tested positive last week. Today is my last day of quarantine. I have had had very light symptoms and none since Saturday. I have missed 6 days of work. My wife has missed 7 days of work thus far, and now she is required to quarantine for 2 additional weeks due to “being in contact”. So she will now miss 3+ weeks of work, despite testing negative.
We are fortunate enough that we will be okay, but something has to give in regards to the contact stuff. Families can’t continue to do this.
I think the test has changed, in the beginning they were swabbing your brain stem. Now it’s just barely in your nose. I think my wife got a throat swab in the OR.When testing first started people were plastering social media with videos of them getting it and they were acting like it was the worst pain in the world.
Or maybe the people that are so scared of a virus with a >95% survival rate should stay at home and let everyone else get back to life.Ah - you're coming at this from the direction of the mask preventing self infection. The mask works to prevent the wearer from infecting others. Like doctors in surgery, the mask keeps their germs from me and not vice versa.
And if people aren't going to be disciplined enough to keep their hands to themselves, wash and sanitize their hands, and keep their face penis covered, then they need to stay home or stay away from others.
Just got back from a dinner date with my wife. Folks around here are apparently ready to move on. The restaurant appeared at 100% capacity, and the new bar we drove by had cars lined up for a hundred yards past their parking lot.
Additionally, we had long friendly conversations with our server and another gentleman who insisted on covering our tab, despite my objection. It seems like some people are actually going out of their way to "reverse the trend." I love it and can't wait to pay it forward on our next night out.
I'm no statistical wizard but after looking it over I agree with your assessment. As a matter of principle I don't see how a numbers geek and a computer can tell you with any degree of accuracy how this is transmitted unless they know exactly how a person got the virus. If you don't start with that then it's all built upon a guesstimate upon a guesstimateMaybe one of our statistical wizards can help me with this, but by my reading, this study looks like garbage in/garbage out.
SARS-CoV-2 Transmission From People Without COVID-19 Symptoms
Conclusions
Under a range of assumptions of presymptomatic transmission and transmission from individuals with infection who never develop symptoms, the model presented here estimated that more than half of transmission comes from asymptomatic individuals.
Or maybe the people that are so scared of a virus with a >95% survival rate should stay at home and let everyone else get back to life.
Discriminatory language? WtfThere's a huge difference between fear and due diligence. I have said repeatedly that we can be more open than we are at this point. But you've got to stop using discriminatory language against those of us who aren't in a position to join you.
The economic possibilities with HVAC conversion alone - manufacturing and installation - should put a smile on people's faces. Give businesses economic incentive to upgrade. Nice little boost to the economy.

I though we have already seen studies where asymtomtic spread is not happening

Why would more expense in a recession make anyone smile? You spend five figures on your HVAC only to have your health department shut down your business on a whim. There's a huge difference between fear and due diligence.
