No, I’m not. You’re a caregiver not a clerk. You have a burden of responsibility others don’t have because they depend on you for health care. If you were in an environment where you knew people were ignoring safe practice, you should have left.By going to dinner with my wife? I hope you're kidding.
I've been coughed and spit on by screaming kids every single day for the past ten months. I'd say my daily profession is a much greater "hazard" than having a meal with other healthy people in the building.
I had a doctor tell me he was over infectious disease at a local hospital, therefore around Covid patients all day. He was careless with his mask, taking it off at one point in a confined space. He Told me I was safe if I left mine on. Safe to say, I told him what was what. The case could be made that there's a violation of the Hippocratic Oath at play.
The most fair and reasonable thing to do would be for him to be open with his patients about his beliefs and activities and let them choose. I bet most of his patients would stay, but those with concerns may choose to go elsewhere.
My doctors here have been transparent with their behavior because they understand they have to have the trust of their patients. Violations of the sacred oath without consent of the patient can result in a less effective relationship.

Further, what you just stated also means you are disregarding the public safety when you know you are constantly exposed to infection.
That’s what by I asked the question.@AshG and @Roustabout,
Wouldn't you need to know the details of @kiddiedoc 's evening before making a judgement of what is/is not ethical and moral where his patient's are concerned?
It would also be appropriate to ascertain the existing safeguards in place to protect his patients and the stats (if any) at his pediatric practice. That’s what by I asked the question.

@kiddiedoc have there been any covid positives contact traced back to your office?
Well, the Karens don’t feel that way. You should be kept in an airtight vault until it’s time for your rounds. Your life is no longer your own. There have not. And, yes, we have the same safeguards in place as most hospitals and other care facilities.
I'm not sure how these knuckleheads think that me taking my wife out to dinner is somehow a dangerous practice. Every one of my colleague friends has been on vacation, to sporting events, religious services, holiday gatherings, and restaurants. I can assure you that our table for two is the least of anyone's worries!

Help me understand. Do you and @Roustabout really believe that physicians should have to report their whereabouts and activities outside of work to their patients? How about nurses? Teachers? Restaurant employees? Should we be forced to wear tracking devices? Locked in our homes? That seems a road we don't want to go down.I don't get it. All he has to do is tell his patients. Easy peasy. It's like he knows there may be some pushback.
