You thought the dentist's couldn't get any worse? Patients could soon be asked to wear HELMETS that Suck Up any COVID-infected cough droplets

To protect dentists from catching coronavirus, patients could soon be asked to wear open-faced helmets that suck up any COVID-laden droplets they cough up.

Developed by experts at New York's Cornell University, the disposable, transparent helmets are connected to a pump that creates a reverse flow of air around the head.

This ensures that any potentially infected droplets become trapped in the flow of air coming in through the mouth aperture — and are unable to escape the helmet.

Alongside dentists, the concept could also be used by so-called otolaryngologists — ear, nose and throat doctors — who also need access to patients' heads and necks.

'He's interested in being a celebrity instead of a governor': Fox News meteorologist who blames Andrew Cuomo's nursing home policy for in-laws' deaths slams his vaccine roll-out - as he says she's 'not credible' and to stick to the weather

The Fox News meteorologist who blames Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home policy for the deaths of her parents-in-law slammed the governor’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout in New York, saying he’s more interested in being a ‘celebrity.’

Janice Dean appeared on the Fox News Channel on Tuesday where she blasted the governor for the botched vaccination rollout, which she called a ‘disaster.’

‘It is just another leadership failure from this governor,’ Dean said.

Richard Azzopardi, a spokesperson for Cuomo, told DailyMail.com in response: 'Every state has had issues with vaccine distribution because of lack of federal funds but we're rapidly ramping up distribution and currently have administered more than 60 percent of the vaccines we have.

'Last I checked she's not a credible source on anything except maybe the weather.'

Last spring, Dean emerged as a critic of Cuomo after the parents of her husband, Sean Newman, died in March after contracting COVID-19.

Dean first lost her father-in-law, Michael Newman, in late March just hours after the family received a phone call that he had been feeling unwell.

A couple days later, her mother-in-law Dolores Newman became sick at another nursing home and was rushed to the hospital. She died a few days after she tested positive.

Dean told DailyMailTV in November that she didn't blame anyone for their deaths initially, until she learned Cuomo had signed an executive order to move COVID-positive patients into age care facilities.

'That's when my back went up a bit because I remember not long before his [her husband's] father died, getting a phone call from his nursing home saying: "We're going to move your father-in-law to a different floor so we can put more patients in", she said.

During the early days of the pandemic last March, Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take back COVID-19 patients as part of an effort to free up hospital beds.

When testing first started people were plastering social media with videos of them getting it and they were acting like it was the worst pain in the world.
I'm not going to say that there were a few people who may have had that feeling, but I think we all know that the overwhelming majority of people are against it for totally different reasons.

Just got back from a dinner date with my wife. Folks around here are apparently ready to move on. The restaurant appeared at 100% capacity, and the new bar we drove by had cars lined up for a hundred yards past their parking lot.

Additionally, we had long friendly conversations with our server and another gentleman who insisted on covering our tab, despite my objection. It seems like some people are actually going out of their way to "reverse the trend." I love it and can't wait to pay it forward on our next night out.
Where are you? Northeast? The Southeast? Midwest?

The economic possibilities with HVAC conversion alone - manufacturing and installation - should put a smile on people's faces. Give businesses economic incentive to upgrade. Nice little boost to the economy.
Some of these businesses that are trying to stay afloat have already made sacrifices by closing or reducing hours, buying PPE, plexiglass barriers, and other things and are still being punished. Now here you come saying they need to do more.

The case could be made that there's a violation of the Hippocratic Oath at play.

The most fair and reasonable thing to do would be for him to be open with his patients about his beliefs and activities and let them choose. I bet most of his patients would stay, but those with concerns may choose to go elsewhere.

My doctors here have been transparent with their behavior because they understand they have to have the trust of their patients. Violations of the sacred oath without consent of the patient can result in a less effective relationship.

Let’s say for example @kiddiedoc treated a patient complaining of COVID symptoms and the patient said they had been exposed to a confirmed C19 positive person. Do you think the physician should inform the next patient he sees in the exam room across the hall being treated for a suspected case of impetigo that the previous patient he just treated is likely infected with C19? Wouldn’t that be the reasonable thing to do? You know the answer. The doctor is under no obligation to tell his patients what he does during his personal time. The triggered COVID Karen’s are beyond comical and have made the pandemic even worse to deal with.

You are dealing with someone who thinks it's "discrimination" to ask those with underlying conditions to take precautions and not everyone.

Covid is beginning to settle down again in southern middle TN. McRib's hospital only has 2 cases admitted.
I hope we are through with the huge outbreaks, now. If CDC estimates are correct, up to 220 million people may have had exposure or tested positive by now.
Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Don't know about KD practice but my kids ped makes you sign a waiver and advising the risk of being in the office.
