There was a period of about 6 months where everything was completely closed except grocery stores and you couldn't go in without a lot of precautions. We were like everyone else. Desantis has successfully spun this national yarn that we were somehow way ahead of the curve on being open, or re-opening, and its not really accurate.

And ironically, when the dust settles, his real claim to fame on it all is going to end up being that he was just waaaay out front pushing people to get vaccinated, opening channels for it, pushing for lowering age limits, etc. Which as I say ironically validates the concept of both the virus threat and the vaccination response.

Exactly…starting a full blown investigation 18 months after they potentially realized what had happened isn’t going to reveal any smoking gun. They’re going to come back and say there wasn’t definitive evidence of a lab leak, and so it must have been from natural transmission (even though there’s still no evidence of that either). Joe can say he was tough on China and they can say they didn’t do it.

This is what baffles me. Why is it if you are in the scientific field and you question the CDC in any capacity, you are attacked? Either by direct threats or by having your credentials mocked?

I'm going to call you out on this one, as 1) I have many colleague friends in the state that say otherwise, and 2) we vacationed in Florida the first week of June 2020. I have phone pic evidence that we were on packed beaches in Rosemary, ate out in multiple restaurants without masks, shopped freely, and enjoyed live music.
