There was a period of about 6 months where everything was completely closed except grocery stores and you couldn't go in without a lot of precautions. We were like everyone else. Desantis has successfully spun this national yarn that we were somehow way ahead of the curve on being open, or re-opening, and its not really accurate.

And ironically, when the dust settles, his real claim to fame on it all is going to end up being that he was just waaaay out front pushing people to get vaccinated, opening channels for it, pushing for lowering age limits, etc. Which as I say ironically validates the concept of both the virus threat and the vaccination response.

Well you have the state reaction (Desantis) and then you have the local fiefdom reaction (Example, that mayor in Tampa during the Super Bowl).

Perhaps NK isn't the only Communist country making such claims but the conversation was about NK's leader Kim. I commented that I thought his country claimed no C19 cases. Then someone else chimed in "that was Viet Nam."

A little humility would be helpful here. I included the words "I thought". No such words were included in the Viet Nam post. How 'bout a response like "I think Viet Nam made the same claim"?

Knox county barely at 40% vaccinated and the virus has essentially disappeared. I think the fear porn people have a tough road to convince people to get vaccinated at this point.
