Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

That dude is clearly very obese which we know is the most common/cross-cutting underlying condition with this virus. As someone else posted before, the media, doctors, politicians and everyone in general have failed to harp on this enough and use it as a rallying cry for us to get healthier as a society. Instead of encouraging exercise, healthier eating habits and Vitamin D consumption via getting off our asses and going outside, we instead shut down gyms, parks, trails, tennis courts etc. and pushed an already obese society to fast-food/takeout consumption via closing sit-down restaurants and fear of going to grocery stores. The “packed on the Covid-19” has become the new “freshman 15” joke. I was already in a transition of trying to get healthier in the few months leading up to Covid and took it up a notch once obesity became the common theme (even though I wouldn’t have classified myself as obese).

I have several patients that have become unhealthy enough over the past 18 months to develop hypertension and/or insulin resistance. A couple of them have not been allowed out of the house or to socialize with anyone outside the family. Very sad.

How about swimming in the same pool, gulping and spitting out common water?
One of my kids had covid and his brother drank after him more than once and the brother never got it. Not to mention there was plenty of close interaction while the sick one would’ve been contagious. He’s autistic so there was no way to keep him confined.

'Washington is Responsible for this': Texas Mayor Reveals 1,500 of 7,000 Migrants Released Into His City Tested POSITIVE for COVID - and 1,800 are Crossing Every DAY

A mayor on the Texas-Mexico border is slamming Joe Biden and his state's federal lawmakers after he was forced to declare a disaster over the surging number of migrants infected with COVID being released into his city.

In a video posted to Facebook Wednesday, McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos was visibly frustrated talking about the state his city is in after 1,500 migrants tested positive for COVID out of 7,000 left there by Border Patrol last week.

The city commission voted on Tuesday to set up emergency tents to house the overflow of migrants, but moved it to a county-owned facility further away from residents angry over its location.

His message comes after new data shows 1,500 of 7,000 migrants released in McAllen last week tested positive for COVID (pictured: Asylum-seeking families wait for CBP in Roma, Texas, also along the border but far from McAllen, on July 30)

Addressing his citizens the Republican mayor told them 'I know ya'll are angry, we get the calls, we get the texts, we get the emails.'

'Lately we've been getting about 1,800 immigrants a day,' he said. 'Then, coupled with the fact that 15 percent of the immigrants have COVID, have caused substantial problems to our great city of McAllen.'

Villalobos urged his constituents to not blame local officials or even Governor Greg Abbott for the situation.

The Texas Republican is just the latest political leader to criticize the Biden administration over how it's handled the border.

A July report from Customs and Border Patrol found a record 188,829 encounters with migrants at the southern border over the month prior. Thousands more may have crossed over undetected.

We are perpetuating with mandates what will make this virus happy.

This study probably doesn't include the variants...but it is the first I've seen to tackle the question of natural immunity from COVID infection New national surveillance of possible COVID-19 reinfection, published by PHE

Current evidence suggests that most reinfections will not cause symptoms.

There is currently no evidence that the Delta variant, or any other Variants of Concern, are more likely to cause reinfection than others, but we will closely monitor this.

Lots of good news here

In six short months, the United States will be sending its Olympic athletes to Communist China, where the VIRUS began, to compete in the Winter Olympics.

The Chinese Virus has killed, so they say, 615,000 Americans.

Cooked Dog Meat will be served in Beijing, a city of 21 Million Communists.

I decided to re-channel my HS XC days and get back to running. That combined with basically eliminating my sweet tea obsession lead to losing 30 lbs; those are the only two things I did. It’s amazing and scary how much weight can be packed on with sugary drinks.

It amazes many people that you can consume as many calories in a large sweet tea or soda as you burn running a 5k.

If I ate out it was tea at lunch and supper. In my last job where I was on the road most days both of those meals were in a restaurant and it was 4-6 glasses a day. I consumed as many calories in drinks as I did food.
