Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

Remember how HIV was treated in the early years? You may not so you should educate yourself on the use of a wide variety of therapeutics on new diseases.

The original HIV treatments were reverse transcriptase and protease inhibitors that were well-characterized at the time from studying other viruses. They were used in mixtures (termed ‘cocktails’) because the different drugs inhibited different targets in the viral infection pathway.

August 5th claimed media was deadliest virus in US, may have changed his mind a short couple weeks later.

My son had a positive Covid test Thursday and is a high schooler. He thought since his throat was a little sore that he may have the start of a sinus infection and went to the doctor and boom. He was positive. Besides a little drainage and a little soreness in his throat, he is fine. He can still eat just about anything and actually said if he didn't know he was positive he would go to school and do workouts etc.

Everyone seems fine and basically no one having any symptoms in the house and he feels like he can do anything which is great. I have lost a friend to Covid in their 50's and another the same age to a heart attack in the same week as well as one due to a car accident. It all sucks when people die. I don't want you to die either. But you seem to be having such a good time posting these sad events that seem to be mocking these people. You absolutely suck for doing this especially when some of us including the poster with a 7 year old daughter and another with his wife having bad symptoms and fighting this thing. I used to like seeing your football post but you sir, are a sick monster for posting this crap over and over again. It may not be your intention but it seems you are openly mocking people who are dead.

I do not fear the virus but I do respect it. Maybe some folks don't respect it and mock it then die from it. Regardless, i will not mock or make fun of them or the people who shove vaccines down everyone's throat if they were to get Covid or the shot and then die from it or lose someone they love from it. Where is our humanity? Gone for good.

Hope your son keeps the mild symptoms and makes a swift recovery

Kind of like ivermectin and hydroxicloroquin and some other therapeutics being used to treat Covid.

The politics forum is a very peculiar place that seems to bring out the very worst in people. One side seems to enjoy reveling in the passing of folks like Phil Valentine and Rush Limbaugh along with anyone they feel could possibly score some cheap political points with, and the other side has an entire thread devoted to how many kids are killed in Chicago each weekend. Many on both sides like to clutch their pearls when the other uses the misfortune and tragedy of others for anonymous political e-cred, but many of the same ones then do the very same thing to gin up their own echo chambers. I've had some very thoughtful conversations with friends, coworkers, and relatives about many social and political issues, and I truly don't think the majority of people act like this in their public lives. I'm sorry for the loss of your friends, and I wish your son the best.

Wonder who would do better at protecting it's population: a city with 30 minutes to prep for a tsunami or one that had a several days.
It didn't help that the Governor of the state, with little warning of said Tsunami, held peoples heads under the flood waters until they drowned. Then he went and grabbed some boobs, while being publicly pushed to run for POTUS, by liberal fan boys and girls.

Covid has really put a hurting on America in so many ways. I think it hurts a capitalistic society more than a communist society.

Everywhere you look there are "Hiring" signs. Almost everywhere. Every industry.

Last night I went to a Nordstrom Rack store and was asking how often they get inventory. They said about 4 times a week but they don't have enough workers to put it out. Clearly hiring.

Tonight for dinner, we are just ordering pickup from Logan's. I called it in and they gave me a standard 30 minutes. I made it and you guessed it - sign on the property "Hiring". I noticed the parking lot was half empty yet people were waiting to be seated. Finally went in to get my order, they said it will be another 10 minutes. A guy went up to get seated and they told him an hour. I don't know if it is space seating or the lack of employees but we are a changed nation right now.

We were discussing this issue in the Phil Valentine thread but I don't know how the origins of this thing doesn't severely piss people off. This sbould be a consensus and not a partisan issue.

Even our Chick-fil-A is struggling..not open inside so they have drive thru, call in/app orders, and now delivery...its been a big wait recently and they have even messed up a couple of orders...Our Wendy's is paying 17 an hour...and Sonic & Arby's have been closed during normal hours...my company recently bumped everyone up 3-5 dollars per hour because we were having trouble hiring and retaining folks

And Chick-fil-A never seems to get it wrong.

Mask up Fido and Mittens at home, also.
I guess you don't mask up Fido... you just kill him.

Australian Town Council Sparks Outrage After Killing Rescue Dogs To Prevent Covid Spread | ZeroHedge

According to the report, the shelter volunteers had Covid-safe measures prepared to handle the dogs - one of which was a new mother.

"We are deeply distressed and completely appalled by this callous dog shooting and we totally reject the council’s unacceptable justifications that this killing was apparently undertaken as part of a COVID- safe plan," Animal Liberation regional campaign manager Lisa Ryan told the Herald.

I know that is a rhetorical question that you know the answer to but all the social programs and increases that have been put in place to enable people to be gainfully unemployed decreases incentive for people to get a job. I think it's a big reason young people were able to riot in the streets last summer. They didn't have to worry about working while they drew unemployment. Paid rioters.
