Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

This Therapeutic debate has been alive for 2 years now...and yes the jab is highly disputable as only a therapeutic but with unknown and seemingly alarming side effects that we dont even know. Effin strange.
One thing that we all have had to learn, the Fed gov is a disaster in implementing any plan that impacts our lives. Throw politics into it and it is nothing but a cluster. Clown Town.

So, by this metric, if one kid gets sick during any given week in a school of 1,000, that's a "high transmission rate?" To reach low transmission, that would be the equivalent of 1-2 kids in the school catching the flu throughout an entire flu season.

Preposterous.
This isn’t the flu 😡😡😡

It spreads like the flu and has very similar risks (actually lower) of severe illness and mortality in children. I'm giving a picture of what the expectation of <10 cases per 100,000 people per week looks like. By that measure, RSV, flu, croup, strep throat, enterovirus, etc would all be dangerously high transmission all winter during a typical year. Given what we understand about coronaviruses and the newer mutatuons/strains, this metric is completely impractical.

Has anyone calculated the “lives lost” by delaying vaccine EUA from October 2020 to December 2020 and then from the two months of inadequate supply of the 90% effective treatment?

No idea. But if that pill is 90% effective then there is a lot of people dying that wouldn’t be if only the execution part of the manufacture and distribution had been better. That’s a damn shame.

It's very "interesting," given that the shots don't offer much protection at all against the new variant(s) -- unless the UK is experimenting with Omicron shots.

Sorry. Was being sarcastic again. I think their approach is pretty reasonable and I like their philosophy.

Children aged 5 to 11 in England will be offered COVID-19 vaccinations to widen protection for the population as the government moves to scrap remaining pandemic restrictions.

The National Health Service will make shots available to children across that age group starting in April, so “parents can, if they want, take up the offer to increase protection against potential future waves of COVID-19,” U.K. Health Secretary Sajid Javid said in a statement Wednesday.

Javid said most young children are generally at very low risk of serious illness from COVID and the priority remains for the NHS to provide vaccines and boosters to adults and vulnerable young people, and catch-up with other childhood immunization programs delayed by the pandemic.

His decision follows official guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation which said offering vaccines could help protect a very small minority of young children at risk of serious disease from the virus. The advisory panel said the shots would also offer short-term protection against mild infection across the wider age group.

Under the new “non-urgent” guidance, young children will be given two doses of the shot developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE at least 12 weeks apart. Local governments in Scotland and Wales had already said they plan to offer shots to children in that age group.

The government has been extending its vaccine program to increasing numbers of people as the country eases COVID rules two years into the pandemic and seeks to transition to a more manageable phase, despite the risks still posed by the virus.

In December, the panel cleared the Pfizer shot for use in vulnerable young children to boost coverage against the Omicron variant. That allowed at-risk children aged 5 to 11 years old to become eligible for two doses of the vaccine.

Javid said Wednesday’s decision followed a thorough review of the safety of Pfizer’s pediatric vaccine by the U.K.’s Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

I agree, that's a much more reasonable approach. However, given the known risks of myocarditis and alteration of the reproductive cycle with unknown etiology, I think it is negligent to even offer it to healthy children.

Unsure how it affects the potential reproductive cycle issues, but it does look like spreading the doses out to 12 weeks lessens the risk of myocarditis.

I gotta make a note of this. $15k is the going rate right now for a hitman. I assume this is the inflation adjusted price? Would it have normally been under $10k?

It’s a big circle jerk. Randi Weingarten said the other day in an interview that masks in schools should come off when “the spread [is] low enough so that there's no dissemination or transmission in schools." No way Walensky is crossing Weingarten on this. It will be purely up to local school districts, because CDC won’t be recommending it in the foreseeable future.

So frustrating. The local douchebags will not do anything but rely on the federal douchebags who just keep punting. Circle jerk as you say.

I hate these people and it is not hyperbole. If you don’t have school aged children, you might not get it.

I do. In New York.
At the very least, our district Superintendent is at the front of pushing the Governor to move past the restrictions. He has actually mobilized a group of superintendents from our area asking the Governor to lift restrictions.
