Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

TBH, I dont blame doctors that much in all this. Yes, some went crazy and deserve the back lash they get, but the bigger issue was how politicized the virus was and how politicians used it for their advantage instead of doing what was right.

I don’t think I could be so kind. I understand how politicized the virus response was (is), but physicians willingly became pawns in the game. There was near unanimous agreement with non-clinical research for clinical treatments recommended almost entirely by non-clinicians.

I wouldn't go that far. There are the more vocal critics/dissenters (like me), and then there is a much larger group that feels the same way but doesn't want to deal with the backlash from their corporations, hospital systems, media, etc by speaking out. I know far more colleagues in the latter group than the first.

Unfortunately, the world powers weaponized the response to the virus. Yes, Covid has killed many people and did clog the hospitals at certain points, but the overwhelming majority of people were fine. The fact that they tried to silence anyone that had questions about actual deaths to the virus and potential vaccine side effects (as well as changing the definition of what a vaccine is) shows there is something sinister going on behind the scenes on a global stage. Imagine what happens the next time a slightly more dangerous virus is released.

Well then what does that do for this world when people with knowledge choose to stay quiet due to fear.

My doctor treated it the way it should have been treated imho. I think he and @kiddiedoc spoke the same language.
My cardiologist on the other hand went full idiot on it. But in his defense, he was working at the hospital a lot, and he saw the death and all 24/7. I think that tempered him and narrowed his perspective. And I am sure that with all the misinformation inundation he was getting from the politicos, it blinded him to what was happening in the real world outside the hospital. But that is just my opinion. I had the Fauci Flu... survived and didn't get vaccinated. What do I know?

oh please save us

I agree, but in the words of Jason Isbell: "the right thing is always the hardest thing to do."

Thinking back over history, if smart people all stood together and spoke out in times of injustice, most of the humanitarian tragedies could have been avoided.

It sparked my interest because I was talking to my daughter last night and she said one of her AP classes had a discussion on whether cancel culture was productive or not. I asked her what stance she chose. She chose to believe it was not productive but chose not to say anything in the discussion because she didn’t want to get cancelled by classmates.

I told her she should have stated her belief but that I can understand why she didn’t. Stupid world we are creating.

Smart daughter. I agree with her though cancel culture is stupid.

It's supposed to be his area of expertise - the "leading" infectious disease expert should be able to get this right.

If you ever needed any evidence that the statements are all political this is Exhibit 1
One of the things that is killing me about this is the people that sit on the fence and say "well both sides are making this political!"

Only one side has been and continues to use this "pandemic" as a play to gain power. Only one.
