A couple points on the deaths if they'd been vaccinated by state
1) AGE - while EL looked at median age; a more useful metric is size of the population over 65 given the high concentration of death in that group. FL is #2 and the comparison state of TX is #48.
2) POPULATION - the population equalizer is deaths per 1,000,000. Michigan is nearly tied with Florida: 1651 vs 1694.
3) ESTIMATE - this number is an estimate - seeing the data would be helpful to assess this. It's about 50% higher than a prior estimate by Kaiser and it appears to rest on the criteria that every single adult be vaccinated
"Nationally, if states had continued to vaccinate at their internal peak rate to 100% coverage, 318,981 Covid-19 deaths could have been prevented. If all states had vaccinated at the highest peak rate across all states, 338,961 Covid-19 deaths could have been prevented. Over 1 in 2 deaths due to COVID could have been prevented had vaccine demand been sustained throughout 2021 and 2022."
No state is close to 100%; Rhode Island is at 83% and only one or 2 other states are above 80%.
And of course there's the fact that 18 states have had higher deaths per capita than FL including some of the big blue including New York, New Jersey, Michigan, New Mexico,
Nevada and Pennsylvania.
Literally the only reason anyone needs to vote Trump in 2 years.
He could have fired him when he was president. Instead he put him on the podium and shut down the country. Trump is a germophobe and a swindler.
Did any Republican show backbone during this crisis other than Desantis? Lee was a turd too.
Kemp shut down things for about a month at the beginning before opening them back up. That was too long for some, but well before the national average.Sure. Abbott in Texas did. He announced that his state was fully open before anyone else did. Took lots of heat for it but in the end, things didn't deteriorate. Things went along fine

I’ve seen a few. I watched a couple at Calhoun’s in Turkey Creek enjoy their meal and then proceed to mask up as they left. How people are still this stupid boggles my mind. If you’ve sat down for a meal for 30 minutes, you’ve already exposed everyone in the restaurant a million times over. It’s like they’ve never heard about super spreader events. Is covid still a thing? I haven't seen anyone where I live in East TN wear a mask or think one thing about it in at least a year.
Every vaccinated person I work with was out in January and February. Double maskers and very cautious. One visited her cardiologist last week and got the news she has inflammation in her myocardium. She expressed shock I’m unvaccinated like it’s a huge secret. I expressed I’m not suffering any shot side effects. That comment went over big with her, then again she has outrage over unmatched socks.I have 2 vaccinated employees out with it at the moment.
Wait more masking coming lol A third of US should be considering masks, officials sayEvery vaccinated person I work with was out in January and February. Double maskers and very cautious.
