Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

“The unvaccinated are the problem”
“The unvaccinated have no place in civil society”

Those are very real, very dangerous sentiments that were widespread during the worst days of the Covid debacle.

The politicians were saying it.
The medical professionals were saying it.
The media was saying it.

And we had millions of Americans in agreement.
Learned people asking legitimate questions about approach and "the science" were castigated and lumped in with people who were outlandish and conspiratorial. It wasn't enough to let their questions stand or fall on their premise. They needed to be ostracized and intimidated.

That shouldn't happen in America.

It was horrifying.

It’s far too politically charged (unfortunately) and people won’t/can’t walk it back.

But one day we’ll all be dead and gone, and future generations that didn’t live it will look back on it. Wonder what they’ll say?

Your closing sentence is unsettling. I hope there is a wide chasm between people motivated by fear of an invisible virus and people motivated by fear (or hate) of others. I don't know if the wide chasm exists when push comes to shove. If it doesn't, the right fear pushed by the right people at the right time would be disastrous for the home of the free.

A poll was taken among Democratic voters in the heart of the pandemic. This should scare you

- 55% supported fines against the unvaccinated simply for refusing the jab.

- 59% supported permanent house confinement for anyone who refused to get vaccinated.

- 48% supported fines or PRISON for questioning vaccine efficacy on social media.

- 45% supported the government having the ability to put the unnvaccinated in "designed facilities" aka internment camps.

- 47% supported "a government tracking program" to monitor unvaccinated citizens.

- 29% supported the state being able to REMOVE UNVACCINATED PARENTS' CUSTODY OVER THEIR OWN CHILDREN.

That was a Rasmussen Poll of 1,016 respondents.

Given the overall direction of intelligence in this country they will sadly think we were geniuses.

SIAP - is anyone surprised that this is what we get?

Biden's new CDC director laughed off COVID lockdowns

Yes, and then the MSM used crap like this as "science," because these were the experts that should be trusted.

Those of us who were actually looking at disease patterns, clinical data, and effects of certain restrictions around the world were "science deniers" and were mocked, threatened, and discredited. We knew VERY early on that closing schools was completely unnecessary and would have serious consequences. We knew kids and younger/healthy adults faced virtually zero risk. There was no evidence that mRNA shots would stop a respiratory virus that can easily mutate and evade narrow immune response. And, yes, there was cause for concern that adverse events outweighed any benefits of the shots for a good portion of the population.

And to those scoffing at the comparison to other totalitarian regimes' behaviors:

What do you say to those who lost their businesses and livelihoods?

Underprivileged children who will never make up their educational loss?

People who died of suicide, drug overdose, lack of medical care?

Those who suffer from anxiety or depression exacerbated by forced lockdowns?

Those who have died or suffered life-threatening adverse events after coercion into taking mRNA shots?

Were we or were we not told lies and/or manufactured "truths," perpetuated by an orchestrated march of mainstream and social media, which contributed to the above misfortunes?

If so, who should be held accountable?

A week or so ago I saw where Governor Whitmer said in hindsight a lot of her Covid policies didn’t make much sense. It was just a game to a lot of these people.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and other Blue State Governors like her, extending lockdowns and therefore extending the pain and suffering of their citizens was Trump’s fault.

It was the adversarial relationship, that Trump had fomented, that led to the extended and severe lockdowns in Blue states.

If he hadn’t been such a pompous ass, they would have lifted them sooner.

Yep. And I like how you have 'leak' in parentheses. Fauci should be hanged on the Mall in DC.

Leak my ass.
No he shouldn’t. That’s not America either.

If he committed a crime - try him before a jury of his peers.

Just not in DC, or in Texas or Florida for that matter. Maybe Ohio, or Arizona.

Sad part is, you're completely serious. Blue state Governor's screwups were actually Trump's fault. I can't believe the thinking of some of you folks

Personal responsibility. Please

I agree that some of what was done was to ultimately hurt Trump so he wouldn’t be re-elected. But if that’s true then Whitmer and the others who hurt their own people to attack Trump are terrible people. Hurt millions to hurt one. Of course they would have some kind of warped justification for their actions much like we see with some in the PF.

"Whatever it takes"

And, please tell me you don't need this kind of evidence to show you what kind of people you are dealing with, when it comes to politicians. Did their personal vacations out of state, parties with friends, beauty salon appointments, and dinner gatherings during lockdowns happen, or no? You think they care about the Plebs?

Oh no, just stating the obvious. For some it’s shockingly not obvious though.

Good faith bad decisions should merit at least acknowledgement and an apology.

Bad faith deception to protect an agenda (I'm looking at Dr. Fauci) should merit some form of prosecution.

The reality is that the only accountability is the public recognizing and remembering this incident and refusing to tolerate it again.

I think blue font was implied. And @Sea Ray

I don't think that'll happen.

So basically, the bureaucrats continue getting off scot-free.

For him, yes. For others, no. That’s what’s crazy.
Don't forget to mention also all the horrible things that were said to/about those of us who went against the narrative. I am not really affected by anonymous internet posters, but I had friends and colleagues that treated me poorly for not taking the shots, not recommending or administering them to children, being open to alternative treatments for CV19, allowing my kids to have sleepovers, insisting that we reopen schools, and calling the mask hysteria BS.

Any idea how many apologies I've received?

Likely zero, maybe one at most. I do remember your posts throughout and you were consistently attacked but you never wavered so you certainly have my respect. The most shocking thing to me was people’s inability to think for themselves. Whatever CNN, Fauci or whoever said was deemed fact no matter how much it went against common sense or prior knowledge about how viruses work.

Not sure if anyone has noticed or cares, but NY is blanketed by smoke from the Canadian forest fires. Check out some of the pictures online. It’s pretty crazy.

Anyway, an interesting article today from The NY Times….
N95 Masks Helped Protect Against the Coronavirus. They Also Work Against Wildfire Smoke.

But beware, not all masks work equally well. A surgical mask, scarf or bandanna won’t do much to keep you from breathing in pollutants.
