Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

SamRebel35 see above, I've read this other places as well. Apparently this bug affects heart, lungs and kidneys.

It's common for newborns to have some abnormalities on liver tests. Newborn jaundice in fact is very common.

Got a link for this?
Pretty much what @KB5252 pointed out regarding the liver.

Also, here's a graphic:

I don't know why I didn't think of that regarding newborns, but it's been mentioned earlier in this thread about affecting entire resp system plus kidneys, not sure how valid the info is but it has been reported.

I just wish we knew more; I hate feeling like I'm in the dark.

I don't believe the Chinese government's numbers at all.

Hell, living in southern mid TN tonight I have to put on a life jacket to run outside to my truck, this rain is ridiculous. I may not have to worry about this virus at this rate.
It's the same way here in East Tennessee. Apparently, we're supposed to get heavy rain all day tomorrow too.

I don't need to "head for the hills", I live there on the farm, hence my potential need to prep. Not only do I need to take care of my family long term but my livestock and animals as well. Trivialize it if you want but there is a lot that depends on me to think strategically.

Yep. People who didn't grow up on or around farms don't realize just how much work goes into basic operations, much less battening down the hatches.

Man, I kinda miss those days.

It's a lot of work but very rewarding and back breaking at the same time. It's tougher out here and sometimes it seems like nothing comes easy but I wouldn't have it any other way, I grew up in the city and would never go back now.

My brother and I spent summers on my grandparents farm so my mom could have time to heal from her various surgeries, almost every summer until my junior year in high school.

My grandfather had the farm and several hundred acres of Christmas and decorative tree nursery. He'd put either me or my brother in the truck with him when he went to check the acreage, whichever one didn't go got to pick corn and okra and string beans. If we had been really good, our aunt would take us into the holler to pick blackberries for pie.

Good, honest work. No problems sleeping back then.

Absolutely, my wife recently took a much better paying job. We are considering me taking a part time job to allow me more time to work around here. Many of the barns and outbuildings need serious work. And the house dates back to sound 1880 something so there is always something that needs work. I know exactly what you mean, most nights I don't even remember going to sleep.

Would this be a death sentence for people with cystic fibrosis?

Catching this virus won’t be a picnic for anyone, but based on available reports and data, the mortality rate is higher in people of all ages with existing health issues than in those without.
I’ve been watching this virus closely for that very reason. It’ll more than likely kill me if I catch it.

Just saw where China rolled back tariffs in relation to this virus. It got me thinking, what if the US was behind this lab created outbreak to put china in a bad spot? thatd be a fun movie.

This is going to get scary here in the US here soon. Alot of people are trying to downplay this virus but it’s worse than SARS and the Swine Flu right now.

No worse than the flu. No reason to be alarmed

Looks like nbc gear related rebreathers but not full on bio-chem hazmat suits as the tanks aren’t inside the suits. Seeing those suits involved would really make me sit up and take notice. I have wondered if any of the CST/WMD teams are involved in transport or quarantine support.

I need to write the next "Andromeda Strain" book about this virus and sell it to Hollywood. My book would have all black transgender gay homosexuals in it to represent the current Hollywood rank and file. Of course all of the white people will be white supremacists that intentionally spread the virus among women and children in China. I'm I leaving anyone out?

Elevated bilirubin levels occur in almost all newborns. Just a sign of an "immature" liver. The liver cant quite keep up with conjugation of bilirubin. This typically normalizes days to a week or so after birth.
