This is going to get scary here in the US here soon. Alot of people are trying to downplay this virus but it’s worse than SARS and the Swine Flu right now.

I remember standing in a long line in the middle of West Town Mall to get my Swine Flu shot.

Just telling you what I have been told and researched myself. I have no way of proving or knowing for sure. I don't doubt the Chinese numbers may not be accurate. I also would estimate that mortality rates in Wuhan would be higher than what would likely be seen in other areas due to lack of initial resources and knowledge of the virus.

The daily numbers the last few days are starting to get a little to "perfect" for me. Its been around 2,000 new cases and 65-70 deaths every day. If this was truly slowing down why would they be converting stadiums and hotels into mass quarantine locations in addition to all of these emergency hospitals? Doesn't make any sense.

I could see the possibility of it spreading slower. When it started it had almost 2 months in mass populated areas where the public wasn't told while they were having banquet festivals with thousands of families sharing food in close proximity. There's probably no better scenario for a virus to blow up quickly.

To be fair, ebola would have been a calamity if not for mutating to a less transmissible version and basically stopping itself. The harsh reality is that mankind with all of our fancy medical research didn't stop ebola. It stopped itself. Let's hope the novel coronavirus does the same.

Seems like there should be enough cases outside of China to be able to piece together a more accurate picture of R0 and death or infection rates.

The updated case numbers seem to be tracking on that +2,000 cases a day trend, which is about the third or fourth day of a +2,000 gain.
the new case per day has either peaked, or they are simply not reporting the numbers legitimately.
