Lunardi's pretty damn good at what he does though.

How in the heck does anyone know how good he is?! He's telling us things that can neither be shown to be true or false!

Props to Joe Lunardi and ESPN for figuring out a way to get people to buy bottled air.

I assume by comparing last years final Lunardi bracket with the actual bracket...but idk.

Goodness. You might want to rethink what you just posted.

Well it's actually quite simple if you just think about it for a second. Compare his final predictions with the actual tournament teams that made it in and correctly seeded.

Last year, he only missed one team to get into the dance. He's not as accurate when it comes to seeding, but that is significantly more difficult. Enjoy this little website.

This isn't the first year he's done it. Compare his late brackets to committees bracket, it's pretty dang close.

Edit: never mind just look at the post above mine

I was just checking this out earlier today, it's making me feel very positive. Particularly if we get these next two wins.

The teams listed in the OP and a couple that BTO listed are the bubble- no more. I did a rough check of all conferences last night, and the bubble is thin. I was generous with tournament teams, and there really isn't a whole lot left.

The one important thing to remember is that high RPI teams in small conferences have to win their tournament. If teams like Akron, Louisiana Tech, and Belmont don't win their tournaments, then the bubble gets tight.

I like our chances when Baylor and Arkansas are still listed as next four out. We have a better resume than both.

We have to take advantage of it this year. 4 weeks ago, there was a slim chance, and a tourney bid without Maymon is huge.

Tennessee really missed out Saturday. If Jordan could have gotten some help and UT won, they would be in much better shape. We actually went from first four out to last 4 in and we LOST.

IMO, they lose to Auburn and they are done for. Too bad a loss to overcome. Lose to Mizzou and they are very likely out, may could get in with at least 2 SEC tourney wins. Depends on what the other Bubblers do and at large bids not eaten up by suprise conference champions.

Win both and they are most likely in.

Win both and a tourney game, they are a lock.

We are last team in. Somehow Villanova stayed one spot above us. Last 4 in are Iowa St., Temple, Villanova, UT. First 4 out are Bama, Kentucky, Southern Miss, Ole Miss. Next 4 out are Maryland, Baylor, Arizona St., Arkansas.

He has Virgina as an 11 seed, which I think is crazy. Interesting that he has Virgina somewhat comfortably in while Palm has Virginia as likely out.

Lol I don't think we should be questioning any bracket that gets us in after we lost to UGA

My point is: How can you prove who is the last team in or out TODAY. Not on selection Sunday. Can't be proven or disproven.

No, I don't need to rethink what I just said.

Well, I thought the point you were trying to make was:

How in the heck does anyone know how good he is?! He's telling us things that can neither be shown to be true or false!

Props to Joe Lunardi and ESPN for figuring out a way to get people to buy bottled air.

And the point I was trying to make was, you can know how good he is by looking at his history of estimates. He uses a formula in order to figure out who gets in or out, and his past guesses show that he's pretty good at doing that.

Not trying to be rude or anything, just saying. :hi:

Not a big thing. I was probably not very artful in wording my point to start with.

My problem with Lunardi is he gets a heck of alot of credit for these "last-four-in" and "last-four-out" snapshot-picks before selection Sunday and he never has to answer for being right or wrong because it can't be proven either way.

In any event, I hope we get in.

I believe we need a good showing in the SEC tourny my opinion. Go Vols, make a run in the SEC tourny and make the doubters Believe!

I disagree, I think we need to play like crap in the SECt.

Lost 4 of their last 7, likeky to be 5 of their last 8 after tonight or 5-5 over their last 10, likely 4-6 after tonight.

Not really trending upwards.

Can I ask a question? Do they really look at the trending? I say that because "supposedly" took out how the teams are doing the last ten games last yr. Correct?? I might be wrong. Just thought I would ask.
