Latest on Nico’s progress

Nico only comes in if Milton gets hurt and is out indefinitely or just 1-2 plays. If Milton gets displaced because of sloppy play ( INT, overthrown balls, etc) then that might become a direct result of coaches (Especially Heupel) not be able to develop QBs. Let’s hope that happens.. because if that happens, we have to hope Nico has pure talent.

Hahaa! That would be his first.

most of everyone else can already see Milton has gotten better over 2 years.

Nico comes in THIS YEAR because he needs to get ready to be the guy in 2024 at the very least.

Some of ya'll really have no clue.

I haven't heard anything about Niko lately. I know there have not been any practices, but I was just wondering if he has made any great strides in weight gain, strength training, off the field activities, etc..
Also what do you think his role will be this year? How will he do?

Thanks for the reply. Hope you and yours are doing well.
I got a small bet that Nico plays is 8 games this year. So, I hope you are surprised.
I will say he looks under developed. He needs to put on some muscle on those big DL will break him like a twig when they land on top of him😁😁😁😁
Tyler Bray managed to do fine and was still built like a twig with he arrived

I'll have to say, he's been rather quiet his short time in Knoxville.
Hopefully he's the real deal Hype is going to spring on college football net season.

Nico is doing just what he should be doing. Working hard, learning as fast as he can, being a team guy, keeping a low profile, earning the respect of his team by his dedication and deeds. I hope we get to see him late in games like we did Joe last year. Excited he is here.

I agree and that is what I'm saying. Nico will get into blowouts, mid to late 4th quarter.

Milton played against Ball St (59-10), Akron (63-6), UTM (65-24), Kentucky (44-6) and Missouri (66-24) in the 4th quarter, late. That was before Hooker's injury. Scores will dictate how much Nico plays.

Either I may be the only odd ball in the group or, my orange tinted glasses are not as dark as everyone else's but, I see him playing quite a bit. Until Milton proves that Orange Bowl was not a fluke, I see Him coming in a-lot; maybe starting especially if Milton hasn’t progressed further than he was in ‘21. For me at least, the jury is still out. Just not enough data.
Nope.

You got to be trolling… if you think he hasn’t progressed under one of if not the best Qb developer with 3 years in the system you are foolish… read what Halzle said about him on media and it will show how much… joe is about to light the nation up you can stay in 2021 if you want to but I’m excited about the 2023 season.

8 games is stretch. Milton only played in 5 games before Hooker’s injury. (I guess 6 if you count 1 Hail Mary before half vs AL).

Same. If we lose to UF, there will be a QB controversy.

This is exactly what I hope is happening. We don't need to be putting pressure on him and expecting amazing things out of Nico Suave before his first Fall at UT even begins plus, Nico needs to keep himself under the radar till he has proven that his presence in Ktown has been worth all the hype. Nose to the grindstone Nico - your time will come and when it does, you being ready is what life is all about.

Here's the latest picture of Niko. He does seem to have put on some weight, maybe too much. Looks like he's been lifting weights too. We'll have to see what Heupel has in store for him this season.

This guy just ate Nico. Big belly.

I'm actually banking on us scoring more points than last year ... on more opponents than we did last year. :^)
I absolutely think the lwsvol is right about playing time in blow outs.
I also expect that they want to get as much film on him as humanly possible ... I am anticipating that he HAS to be fully ready NEXT season to take over the reins and there is nothing like live action to find where ne needs to improve.
Furthermore, I believe the coaching staff would prefer and that Nico is fully ready to mentor Merklinger in 2024.
My 8 games was not expecting a Milton injury ... but more ... in the event that Milton did get banged up over the course of the season or an injury actually does occur then they will want him to be as experienced as possible.
He said all the right things in the interview, but he did repeat himself a number of times. Go Big Orange.

Really impressive kid. He could be super flashy and a diva due to his talent and hype, but he seems like a humble hardworking guy. He always gives credit to guys on the team and doesn't try to appear better than anyone, despite being the number 1 player in the country last year. Great attitude and I love it..

Also seems that Heupel has a personality type he recruits as well, which is why the culture has been fantastic.

If Joe is healthy and getting the job done, burning Nico's redshirt doesn't make sense to me. I hope he gets some reps but not enough to burn the redshirt.
