LB @ RB square off video

AJ Johnson is the only player on defense I am sure will have a good year. I'm legit concerned on defense

Unless he has changed numbers, 52 is Christian Harris. I sure hope he was just having a bad day, because he actually looked scared to take a hit in that video. Maybe he's just shying away from contact coming off the ACL injury. I sure hope he gets it together, because I was expecting big things from him this year.
He definitely was not keeping his feet under him. No balance whatsoever!

Paul Harris and Bowles are some big receivers. Holy cow.
I didn't think the LBs looked nearly as bad as the comments said. Those one on one drills are always an advantage for the offensive player.

So was it a win for the rbs or a loss for the lbs? Thats why spring ball is hard to evaluate.

Definitely a loss for LB's. You expect your LB's in that drill to not only tackle, but not allow the RB to fall forward. I did not see one RB go backwards. Yes, I understand the RB has the advantage because he knows where he is going and the LB has to breakdown, but usually in these drills you will see a fair amount of LB's delivering blows and knocking the RB backwards.

Yes, it is Spring and still a long way to go, but would like to have seen more physicality from the LB's.

I don't know that the coaches want our lb's going down at the thighs and knees of our own players right now

I wondered if they had specific directions like that, just for this drill.

With as many tackles as A.J. made in the SEC, he couldn't have been coasting along with bad form thru all that, but was one of them up-high in this particular drill.

Still, I enjoyed seeing some hitting, even the tackling dummies (down low, by the way).

Every LB needs to get lower or an Eddie Lacy or other big physical back will run them over... I was impressed with Fugate though, he was laying some good licks. I'm so pumped:rock:

#46 Ryeon Wedley a walk on fullback looked good in the 1 on 1's to me. shed a tackle and scored on his first carry and made Christian Harris miss on his second

I noticed that as well. I think he will play running back for us instead of full-back. From what I seen he looked pretty good and is a huge back.

I feel like this is the first time these guys have been asked to tackle someone. On the bright side AJ looked good.

Special props to Channing Fugate (#46). Dude took his men down in a hurry. A.J. looked in mid-season form. Best hit of the group.

Hope Channing gets a chance to start this yr. He performed better in this drill than any of the other LB's. He was an awesome Def player in high school.
