Leading the nation in sacks

there are how many football teams in the nation sir ? You named the 3....I'll help you out and throw in Colorado.... 4... out of 133.
11 sacks is a lot for 2 games period especially for our defense lately. Last year as a team we had 31 all season (34 in '21)..Funny story 2020 when we had a "defensive" coach we had 20... just saying
I was going by the original post/stat of the SEC teams combined

I get that's really good stat for us.. I'm not negating that, just saying some of those in the combined statement played harder teams...that's all. (georgia excluded - screw em lol)

against Virginia and Austin Peay though... but still our defense has looked a little better this year to date
Yeah, and the opposing teams that tweet mentions have had McNeese State, MTSU, Furman, Ball State, UT-Martin, and Grambling to pad their stats and UT still has more through two games than those opponents have across all the above cupcake teams. Gtfo

Bruh that was 5 teams COMBINED.......there is no way we should have more sacks than any 3 of those teams combined at any point of the season if they all played the best teams on the planet. But they didnt, each of them all played a cupcake. So with their 5 cupcakes they were able to produce less sacks than we did with 2.

The ways people bend logic to fit their agenda amazes me sometimes.

And all to neg on the team they supposedly pull for.

really? so far...

Alabama played Texas (and lost)
LSU played Florida State (and lost)
Florida played Utah (and lost)

so I would say that does skew that stat a little
I will play this game. You picked the ones that skew the numbers because of strong teams. How about this vs their not so strong competition:

LSU VS GRAMBLING - 1 sack
FLORIDA VS MCNEESE ST - 2 sacks
ALABAMA VS MTSU - 3 sacks

and for good measure:
GEORGIA VS BALL STATE - 0 sacks

Why do some on here try so hard to put a negative spin on anything positive posted on here about the Vols?

UT-M were in there also Georgia had 1 vs UT-Martin giving them a total of 1 in their doublestack cupcake frenzy.

lol chill man I get it…you just got your panties in a wad

TN is the best in sacks through 2 games. I hope it continues. We get pressure on Florida’s qb like we did Virginia and Austin Peay we win

Indeed. You can't ignore the level of competition. If these stats are legit, let's see it on Saturday against an SEC foe.

Pearce will have his Alex Brown moment.
Given the history of this series, I have to consider this to be a one way street. Only gators have breakouts and record setting performances in this one.

Awesome! I went with "fact" that one stronger team was supposed to invalidate the fact that we were so far ahead. Most of the rest of the league choked on their cupcake far worse than we did.

Bro that's just 1 game, they all still played a stat game too. Really doesn't matter because at the end of the year they talley up all the stats and it never matters who you played. Prime example: we had the top offense last year. We put more yards and points on Bama than we did against some of our inferior opponents.

11 sacks is 11 sacks.. most of the other P5 teams in the nation have played similar opponents in their first 2 games.
This right here, and also #1 is #1. I just want to clarify the the Vols DEFENSE is #1 in the nation in sacks. (#1 means we don't suck, ok.) Btw, bet the farm that were still going to be #1 in the Nation at the end of FloreDuh week. It's gonna be The Stomp in the Swamp.

Defense has looked tons better. Offense not so much. Wouldn’t it be nice to have both offense and defense playing at a high level at the same time. Hoping we can put it all together tomorrow night but I’m very doubtful it will happen. Just win baby.
