Leading the nation in sacks

Sacks are an overrated stat in cfb. While they are nice to have, they aren't indicative of an elite or stout defense

if you get a lot of sacks the chances you have an elite or stout defense are extremely high
if you get almost no sacks the chances your defense sucks are really high

If that is not indicative please explain the definition of the word to me because I'm lost here. If you are averaging 4-5 sacks the game chances are you're winning those games most times.

Of the top 10 teams in sacks last year, only one of them had double digit wins last year (Clemson). Of the top 15 sack leading teams, only 2 were in the top 10 of points allowed per game. 🤷🏾‍♂️Screenshot_20230917_132132_ESPN.jpg

how many of them had losing records?... pretty much every team on that list made a bowl game..also don't forget to scroll to the bottom of the list to notice the teams with losing records.

I know folks tend to want to think 10 11 12 (regular season) wins are something teams should be able to do no problem but the fact is only a few teams can pull that off each year.. its called the top 15

All you need is a pulse to avoid a losing season. But sacks are more impactful in the NFL than college. Like I said, nice to have them but they don't translate to being the best of the best.

Who cares? UF converted 7 of 8 third downs? Let’s not hang our hat on UVA and AP. Those are doormat programs. Our D let the Gators move the ball at will. Hadden must go. Get the freshman w speed. I’d rather see us go 6-6 w freshmen getting experience than 6-6 with upper classmen. Our recruiting pitch is going to be same as Pruitt’s after this year - we don’t have many good football players, cone start year 1.
