To be honest though the generations (including the kids) before the boomers were more likely to have been involved with just making a living. The generations (particularly the kids) who came after had the leisure time to "think" - unfortunately many with the help of collegiate level liberal arts instruction.

From a parent - and a boomer, do you know what the single strongest deterrent to the N word actually is? Peer pressure from your own kids peers and the idiots who raised them. You may think they aren't ready to drive, but everybody else is.

You may believe something is wrong, but if you oppose it then you will have "the most abused and maladjusted kid in school". Enjoy it when it's your turn. Our two sons have done very well; they got "no" frequently enough - and the why for it, but it's a very difficult word to use.

I agree with you about a lot of people who shouldn't be parents; it's hard to understand why many actually wanted to be parents because they don't seem to want anything to do with their kids.

When my kids complained (or even now complain about my wife or I), I just remind them that kids and parents don't come with instruction manuals, and we muddle through the best we can. The best example most of us have is our own parents. Of course, my brother and I were on our way to a funeral, and our mother was telling us wear our overcoats, and as we walked to the car, my brother muttered "We're 50 some years old, and she's still telling us what to do."

I've given the answer repeatedly. The law has a disparate impact on minorities and the only assertion I've seen is that the poor cannot afford IDs.
