It's been so long since the current head coach delivered one, I temporarily forgot how to spell the word.
:biggrin2: And to think... I was going to chalk it up as a typo. :p

I will agree with that. It's just that recruiting and early commitments are about the only thing happening right now. Obviously, after last year, we are not going to have a bunch of four and five star recruits making early commitments to UT. However, several of our conference rivals are stacking up some pretty nice looking classes. Maybe they'll have terrible seasons and half those kids will de-commit? I sure hope so. In the meantime there is not much positive news for Vol fans. I'm pretty much a one-sport person and that sport is cfb. I have to post about it, read about it, talk, about it, etc. It's my compulsion. As soon as something good happens with regard to the team I'll be all over it.
i can understand your pain....i'm the same way for the most part....but if we come out and beat UGA, UF and some others...finish with 9 wins or better, we'll get back in the thick of things with some of these recruits....won't get 'em all of course, but we'll get our share...we usually do....of course that is if we have a good season and make the statement that we haven't gone anywhere, sorry about last year, now, let's get on to the future...we come out and tank again, then, your concerns about recruiting will become EVERYONE's concerns....

I say just give us some ball players willing to work their asses off, and stay out of trouble. That's what I want to see... the rest would fall into place.

There's a huge difference between being a winner and being a champion. I agree with the philosophy Bob Stoops advances. If you aren't playing to win championships, you shouldn't be playing at all. If you choose to measure a program on the number of wins it can rack up against the bottom of the SEC and nonconference opponents, that's your prerogative. I choose to use how many championships we win as the measuring stick.
i agree, and i would still say that we are always going in to the season with the goal to play for and win the SEC....we came close twice in the last 5 years....so technically, we have "played" for championships, but not won any....had we won either of those games, life would be a lot easier...but wishes and buts right?

and i agree that there's no real solice in saying Eastern Division Champs....no trophy or banner for just being in the game, only for winning it.

But we have been there lately, and more recently than Florida....so as pathetic as that sounds, i can at least hang my poor old hat on that for now....and hope for better things in the future. And if CPF is the guy that gets us there, great, if not, oh well, congrats to the guy that does.

Championships should always be the goal for any program....I would hope no one is complacent with eastern division titles.

Who braggs about winning the SEC East....other than a South Carolina, UK or Vandy?

not at UT we are content at finishing 3rd in the east. the program has fallen to that level. :bad:

Florida-Aggressive to the point of being brash. (Brash=Lacking in sensitivity or tact.)

Tennessee-Just enough to get the job done..............
and only sometimes to boot!!! there's a lot of validity to that statement....i remember very clearly one of the big knocks on CPF during UF's run was that CPF coached not to lose, whereas Spurrier coached to win, at all costs.

i still think that's true today.

I would hope no one in their right mind would be content with 2nd or 3rd in the east.

My banner at home lists the SEC Championships and the National Championships.............

Maybe I should invest in a eastern division banner......... :blush2: :banghead:

I could care less about all this yammering about positive attitudes and off field behavior. Give me big, fast players with nasty dispositions.

I will be perfectly honest, I love Spurrier, I love his attitude toward playing football. Crush your oponent completely!

I cannot stand the Jim Tressel types................................give me Spurrier!

The downward spiral has begun. We can choose to admit it or bury our heads in the sand. I just hope Fulmer doesnt hang on and drag out the misery.

Let's just all move to Alabama and become Tide fans.

If we have 7 wins, 58 losses, and 4 ties, I will wonder what year we are in, 2006 or 2076
