I'm seriously curious, are any of you even remotely happy with the Obama administration at this point?

Some on here probably consider me pretty liberal and I am not happy with this 3-week performance evaluation. However, I wouldn't call it a complete disaster like everybody else wants to paint it as.

I would give him a fair grade for his economic team, I think it is pretty diverse from an democratic standpoint. There are a couple of free market thinkers in there that are capable.

And take away the pork and I think the context of his economic plan is right. I would say most on here would disagree with me, but I personally like the mix of spending and tax cuts. Other than the ridiculous pork, the biggest issue I have with it is the healthcare crap. If I have to live with the ridiculousness of TARP, I can live with everything else in Obama's plan. I just really wish the pork wasn't there and he would drop the healthcare entitlements he is pushing.

I simply don't have an opinion on the Gitmo thing.

Other than that, everything else is politics as usual in D.C. as far as I can see it.

If we are giving worthless 3 week grades for performance, I would say Obama is a "C" at this point, with plenty of room to go up or down when he faces his first security crises.

Hence my statement that I wasn't happy to this point.

IMO, anything less than an "A" is unnacceptable for POTUS. At this point, I would be happy with a "D" for congress. Those guys are completely worthless.

I really can't judge in 1 month of service. But, if you were holding a gun to my head, I'd be on the fence with him so far. He's closed Gitmo(one reason I voted for him), and not much else. I'm not sure how this next stimulus will go, so I can't judge too much on that.

However, I really thought he'd be bringing our troops home, and redeploying to Afghanistan, so that would be my negative(s) at this point.

Unless I wasn't your intended target.

Did you honestly believe that in the first 3 weeks of his administration Obama was going to start drawing down troop levels in Iraq?

No. I thought he'd at least have something on the troops by now. Such as hinting at a drawdown, something. Of course, I'm not sure I should.

Overall, I'd give Obama a C for his first month in office.

I get D's when I dont read my homework assignments so I would say they are well on their way to a D

Simple, he wants them tried in the US Military Court, maybe even open up a new department for that purpose. Then, when they are convicted, he intends to send them to supermax prisons, and in the future, build some new ones.

That would be my grasp on it.

I think anyone glossing over this spending package with fed healthcare slipped in like a Mickey has lost his mind. I know we all want to make Iraq out to be a huge blunder, but this thing makes Carter look genius. This is also exactly the crap that lost the congress for Clinton and the other trash being bandied about now sounds like he's not even considering decent governance. He has been nothing that he campaigned on. Be has proven to be that most liberal Senator that people assumed be wouldn't be.
