My hope is that Terry is allowed to bring a guest to practice everyday. On odd days he brings Al Wilson and on even days he brings Al Wilson.

I don't know how to post a link, but I found a story in The Chicago Tribune by Rick Morrissey on April 28, 2004 about Michael Gutweiler , whose mother was killed when Little was drunk and speeding, and ran a red light and struck his mother's car in the side.

According to the story, the family wanted to see Little "walked away to jail in cuffs." Little's statement to police was made with no sign of remorse and said "the (expletive deleted) ran a yellow light and hit me, wrecking my $45,000 (expletive deleted) car."

So, please excuse me if I don't hang on every word of your hero's tweet.

No one has called him a hero. Great news about Terry!

@DBL_L_01: Some good news on Rocky Top tomorrow stay tuned.
@DBL_L_01: It has nothing to do w/ me but Coach Jones is a man of his word.
@DBL_L_01: The fans and former players will be happy

It is probably in response to CBJ saying he wants to get former players involved in the program. That was the promise that he made.

So, I would guess that he is announcing some new program to get the former players involved.

I don't see us getting any "Big Fish" recruits, this year....

Can you post a link to your "facts"?
I had decided that I was done with this thread, but since my honesty seems to be in question, here you go.

If that doesn't all print out, google Susan Gutweiler or her son Michael Gutweiler. The story was in the Chicago Tribune in an article by Rick Morrissey on April 4, 2004. This story was about Little's second DWI arrest , 6 years after the wreck.

That didn't all print out, and it shows the whole address is there when I tried to edit. After .com add /2004-04-28/sports/0404280287

or Google Michael Gutweiler, and click on a Chicago Tribune story April 4, 2004.

While I empathize with the family who suffered an untimely tragic loss, does this mean everytime there is a thread about Leonard Little that we have to go through his past indiscretions as opposed to the original purpose of the thread?

Does anyone getting on a soapbox about DUI on the Volnation message board really make a difference?

How about we talk about UT football, and in your spare time you can do your part by becoming a cop, DA, judge, president of MADD,etc. in stopping drunk driving.

On another note, great news about CBJ bringing Terry Fair aboard. Great guy and true VFL. Go get em Terry!

You pretty much nailed it (STP) and that is coming from someone who doesn't drink. I suppose that LL or anyone else who has committed a crime should be pretty much forbidden from interacting with the world forever?

Good luck to Terry Fair! Welcome aboard Mr.Jenkins. Good day to be a Volunteer!

That's a pretty absurd take.

But, I believe we have every right to protest Leonard continued close association with the program.

I think it was a mistake for Coach Dooley to bring Little in to speak to the team in 2011, and an outrage when Dooley told the media:

"he represents everything to me that Tennessee is all about. The more guys like that come back, I love it when they get in front of the team."

Does anyone here feel like Leonard Little represents the program in a light we would want it to be seen?

Wow! Somebody who agrees with me. You must have misplaced your obligatory Vol Nation orange tinted glasses.

I don't believe that he proclaimed or even insinuated his own perfection. There is some middle ground between repeated DWI w/ fatality and perfection. I would assume that the poster would occupy that middle ground.

Protest away, LL is a former Vol who had a great career for the Vols. A decent career in the League.

He tarnished those accomplishments by driving drunk and causing someone's death. He then drove drunk again, luckily not causing harm to anyone that time but himself. He lives with that everyday. I don't know the guy's heart.

He is still a Vol and that will not change, protest or not.

This is where I am at on the whole subject. The dude made some mistakes and pays for it everyday. I dont have to know LL very well, or at all, to know that this is on his mind every day. You listen to the fella speak, and you know he has a heart there.

I dont give 100% passes, but I dont give 100% banishment either. Dooley could have made a lot of better choices, in a lot of areas.

Edit: I dont condone or excuse anything that LL did. There are people who lost a loved one, and there is no way to excuse that.

I take it that you are on both sides of the fence, Gator Bill?

i can see both lawns from where I stand.

Im just saying that there is some middle ground. Yeah, the dude screwed up. Badly. (worse than that) But sometimes you have to trust that the legal system did what was right, and move on.

I can promise you that a fella like LL is living with that every day. (sigh....for the haters, YES he is living, the lady in the car is not. I get that) If the dude was bragging about what he got away with, that is one thing. The fella seems pretty humble. I doubt if the severity of the mistake has been lost with him.

Eventually we have to let go of these things. (and my prayers out to the victims family, because that loss never goes away, no matter how much time passes)

Picket Fence. Im sitting on it, and it is uncomfortable.
