Yes agreed UTC Vol. BTW when I was positing my argument I was on a cell phone and wasn't typing very well so forgive the errors. No it was false reporting or lieing is what it was. And like UTC Vol said a "pretty grievous error" for someone who is "in the loop in recruiting" and "In the know"!! And BTW JW3 did visit officially so I would give Vols a 20% chance there as well. And he also falsely reported about Austin Nichols' sister who currently attends UT. And everyone knows that AN's Dad graduated from UT and honestly the Vols are in the lead. So Leroy Watson was falsely reporting just about everything in regards to HUBBS or NICHOLS. Obviously he has no credibility and can never be trusted by anyone including his Memphis people. Go Vols!

Again, I don't think "lying" is the word you're looking for. Whatever degree you assign to the error, it's still only an error, not a lie.

Unless he actually knows that Tennessee has a better chance and is intentionally false reporting. In that case, yes he would technically be lying.

However, I don't think that's the case, as I've said I'm fairly confident he's just a moron

I think the implication here is that Watson, being such the insider and recruiting guru he is, would have obviously been privy to information about UT recruiting and either purposely did not report this info or blatantly misreported it. This could be more ably labeled a misrepresentation, a fabrication, a dereliction of duty, or that Watson is just a scum-sucking talking head with obvious affiliations and biases who has totally discredited himself as a "journalist".

Or a liar.....

So, Watson "knows" that UT was in Hubbs top 5, even though Hubbs didn't announce a top 5 until after he had committed, and he "knows" what percentages each team stands to land JW3, but "lied" about this just to mess with UT fans?

Look out your window, and tell me if there are any black helicopters circling your house.

Everyone else knew UT was in Hubbs top 5, and others writers such as some duke writers even called UT the leader. Leroy just seemed to blatantly disregard it all.

The kicker now is Nichols, you even claim to hear he's days away from committing to UT...yet Leroy has vandy as "the clear" favorite, and gives Tennessee a 5% chance iirc. WTF?!?! Nobody else in the country thinks that's the least bit accurate, he's destroying his reputation.

There are a LOT of people who think Vandy leads for Nichols, even more people who think Duke will land him.

Just because I don't believe it doesn't mean it's not a commonly held belief.

Who's all these people that believe Vandy leads, Leroy is the only one ie seen actually say that Vanderbilt is the clear leader.

And there's nobody except Leroy who believes UT has a 5% chance at him.

Get away from UT messageboards and you'll find plenty. I'm not saying those predictions are correct. I myself think Austin will be a Vol. But there is nothing close to a consensus on him, like you suggest.

I still can't believe you're attacking the guy for the percentages he assigns to recruits committing to certain schools. If there's a more subjective criteria, I haven't seen one. If you think he's mistaken, fine. I still don't see how that makes him a liar.

Please show me people calling vandy the leader, you said there's a lot so it should be easy,I wanna see them. And not vandy message boards, other writers or recruiting services, let's see them.

I don't really pay attention to what recruiting services say, other than their evaluations of players/rankings. They're wrong about where a player will end up 80% of the time, it seems. If they're saying it's Vandy, that's news to me.

Again, go to a Duke message board, or a Memphis message board, or an Auburn message board, and see what they're saying about Austin. I gaurantee you won't find consensus.

I know of NO ONE who thinks Vandy is the leader....he may sign there and will be a TOTAL surprise to most every one I know...

Again, I know the UT community thinks they are in a very good position with Nichols, and I agree.

Outside of UT circles, however, there is not a consensus like you all seem to believe. Maybe you're not seeing the forest for the trees.

So you're talking about message boards, not people who actually cover recruiting, awesome.

If you look on the right message boards you can also find people saying the worlds gonna end, or aliens are going to invade.

The point is, you said a lot of people are saying Vandy leads, maybe this is true if you're counting Vandy fans. However, if Rob Lewis had stated that, it wouldn't have been a "lie", it would be a mistaken opinion. That. Is. My. Point.

It depends on if Lewis knows the truth...if Lewis is told from king this is my top 5 and Lewis says something different that's a lie.

That's what everyone is saying...Leroy in his line of work should be in enough to get a top 5. Everyone else in his field managed to get one, but he couldn't? That's why leoe are saying he lied...people think he knew a top 5 but is purposely changing that info, which would be lying to the readers.
