Les Miles offered $27.5 million by Arkansas

But you wouldn't take Saban if we stood a chance? I love this move by Arkansas.

I like Les Miles. That said, in present day, who can't win @ LSU? They are in a talent rich state with no other major colleges competing for the talent in the state. Les Miles isn't worth that kind of money IMO. This seems like a desperation move by Arkansas, who already has been Rumored to have hired Gruden, Patterson, Peterson, and I guess they will be holding a press conference naming Les as coach tomm. That's a Hell of a staff they have there. Hope they leave some coaches for the rest of the universities seeking a new coach

Miles at Arkansas would look a lot like Miles at Oklahoma State. He'll win. But he will never win big.

I'd think Miles isn't that dumb; LSU is just about the perfect job.

Yep. Les without all that Louisiana talent isn't worth half what Arkansas is offering him.

LSU should let him walk and take the opportunity to upgrade.

I hope Miles stays where he is. I'd hate for LSU to get a really good coach with all that talent laying around.

Can we say contract re-negotiations? I'm sure this is all a bluff move by Mile's camp to try to jockey for a pay raise at LSU...

Firstly, he turned down a pretty sweet Michigan job. And secondly as others have pointed out, while their defense is beyond stout there is no excuse for their offense to suck as bad as it does with that kind of in state talent. I'm not sure he'd really do all that well at much more talent starved area but in the same tough conference.
