Respectfully disagree. Others have said this. Derek Dooley doesn't have LSU stuff all around the UT facilities, nor does he talk about LSU like being the model for UT, which Kiffin did with USC. Furthermore, Dolley has been around more, no real roots at a job. Finally, Dooley isn't Kiffin, not even close. I don't think mane Vol fans thought Kiffin would turn down the USC job. I think the doubt UT fans had is that USC would hire Kiffin when he was so unproven.

I will say that I agree with you from the stand point of Dooley not being like Kiffin. They are completely opposites. But, LSU does have ties to Derek Dooley and LSU is a better job than Tennessee is RIGHT NOW. If Derek Dooley is looking to become one of the big boys in coaching, IMO, it would be really hard to turn down an offer from LSU. Look at Les Miles for instance. Do you think he would have been even remotely the coaching candidate he is now without having taken the job in Baton Rouge? Highly unlikely. Les Miles is an average coach. He was average at OSU, and the only reason he was so successful at LSU is because it is not that hard to win at LSU. In conclusion, if Derek Dooley gets offered the job at LSU I undoubtably think he takes it.
. Here's the thing though: Gary Patterson, Chris Peterson are 2 examples of not having to take bigger jobs to be "big boys" of coaching. In fact, the difficulty of getting them to leave adds to their appeal and status. Also, it isn't easy to win anywehere. Some places may be easier to win at than others, but Zook didn't win at Florida, Dinardo didn't win much at LSU, Kiffin just lost 5 at USC. There is much more to it than talent laden recruiting ground and talented rosters. The appeal for Dooley to Leave LSU would be there, and he does have ties to LSU. However, he has ties to UVA, the Dolphins,UGA. Kiffin viewed USC is the end all be all of college football and Dooley has even pointed at that he doesn't see his ties to other teams as the media does. Furthermore, even though boosters may be discussing Dooley, there is no way he would be even their top 3 choice imo. You can't have a program like that and hire a coach that isn't proven as head coach. Maye the Chizik thing would change people's views. We shall see.
