Les Miles to Texas

If Jimbo goes to LSU I can see Les going to FSU.

I wonder where Coach O goes then. He probably takes a head coaching job somewhere.

Les Miles to Texas.

Lane Kiffin to LSU.

You heard it here first.

:whistling:

Time will tell but I would think this would be bad for both schools. Hopefully not going to happen. Les is a good guy, and he is a good coach and recruiter but I think his ship has sailed on another huge position.

I don't see Texas going after a 63 year old coach that just got fired considering they have Herman to pick off. Why even get rid of Mack Brown?

Lamo to LSU, gawd I hope not.

He'd fit right in with Cal.

Do you think he gets a job as head man at school that good? I know he would love the location but I'd be surprised if only thirstier programs hand him the keys. I see Cal as like a second tier school.

Kiffin is not stupid. He's not going to coach at a lower-tier school to get a head-coaching job.

Somebody tell me why Jimbo would go from FSU to LSU. Seems a lateral move to me--and to a much harder conference.

Cal as in Calipari. Two straight dirty mofos at that school would be fitting.

Depends on how much he wants to be a head coach. I can't see any major program givng him the keys after what he's done as a head coach. He crapped on a major program at Tennessee and left them a mess, then did jack squat at his "dream job".

If he wants to be a major head coach again, he's going to have to likely go to a lower tier school in a P5 conference to prove he can actually succeed as a college head coach, because he hasn't done that yet.

Sometimes people get desperate...

There was a deal in principle in place last year, so far as him possibly making the move.... doesn't seem far fetched considering everything. I was told that bridge from LSU's perspective might have been burned though. I have no insight as to this year, I can tell you that the rumors of Jimbo going to LSU last year were more than mere rumors. Jimbo never really wanted to leave Baton Rouge to start with, and the School/fan didn't really want him to go.

There has been a lot going on in Jimbo's life to where the move was making more sense for sure... not sure any place else makes more sense than LSU to be honest.

Why did he leave then?

I feel like Texas would be too proud to take LSU's sloppy seconds

I can't wait for the "Saban to Texas" rumors to start up again. Remember a few years ago about how they would wave a bag of cash under his nose and he'd come running?

Yeah, 'bout that...

Why did he leave then?

To be the HC in waiting at Florida State. He left after the 2006 season as OC, LSU won the NC with his offense in 2007. It certainly wasn't Crowton's offense. :) He left on very good terms and nobody wanted him to leave but he wanted a shot at a major school as HC. LSU is very much still running Jimbo's offense although it may not appear to be due to a grass eater desire to ram his cows straight into the other team's biggest cows play after play.

How LSU played this last Saturday is basically how Jimbo ran it here and runs it at FSU.

On paper Jimbo is a very good fit, maybe the best fit, but I don't know... sometimes you can't go home. Neither Saban or Miles were that big a names before LSU hired them.... I would not be surprised by a more obscure name.

Zombie Bear Bryant to Texas.

Les Miles mysteriously disappears prior to announcement of school's new coaching hire.

I don't believe Texas will hires miles or LSU Kiffen. I think Miles is an a over average coach but sometime gets a little more credit than he deserves. He pulled a lot of strange $$$$ out of his $$$ early on at LSU and it worked. Made him look like a genius, when that stuff stopped working he was just a wacky coach going 8-4 or 9-3. I would love to see Oregeron run the table at LSU and get the job. Hes crazy enough to aggravate the **** outta Saban

If I'm Texas I get the guy from Houston.

That bolded part is a great quote.

I would love to see O run the table this season or lose to only Alabama. It would make their decision more difficult. I don't think O is cut out to be a HC, but they could run into a situation where they lose the team/piss a bunch of players off who enjoyed playing for him if they didn't remove the interim tag.

I think it is pretty difficult to gauge how good of a coach Miles actually was. His game management was questionable at best. He pulled in a lot of talent, but that is relatively easy to do at LSU.

I agree about Herman - I think he is more of a fit at a Texas school than Louisiana because of recruiting.
