Les Miles to Texas

I originally said Kiffin to Kentucky but what if Texas does sever ties with Strong. He could get back to Kentucky and back in SEC. That seems like a good fit.

If I were UK I'd go Kiffin over Strong; at the least they would get attention since the media loves keeping tabs on Kiffin.

Strong is a name because he's the coach at Texas, not because he himself sells.

Fairing worse at Kentucky than Texas is a given. But he could probably get them to a 6-6 team regularly imo. He would struggle against his old school as long as Petrino is still there.

The difference being is there are no high expectations at UK unlike Texas. As you noted, 6-6 is kind of a big deal there right now and 7-5 or better would electrify their fan base.

Safest job in the P5 realm so long as you make a bowl game and go above .500 every year.

Texas won't ever be happy though unless a new coach comes in and wins the championship his first year.

Agree as I was super high on Lane when he was here. But don't think wildcats would blink if they could get Strong.

They would still struggle against teams such as Tennessee, Louisville, Bama, Florida, Georgia cause there's always a big talent level difference. Not only would Strong have to coach well at UK but he would have to pull in top 20-25 recruiting classes every year in order to stay competitive which is not easy to do. He couldn't rely on instate talent in Kentucky.

Only way KY can sustain 6-6 is to cancel their series with the Ville. Otherwise, you're going to have to beat VU, SC & Miss State every year.

If Miles and Texas happens it would be like USCe and CWM. Had plenty of choices but got overly excited and grabbed the wrong guy.

Ive thought that Kiffin and LSU were as sure a bet as there could be out there. Given his connection to coach O and the possibility of keeping him on staff it would be a good fit unless someone else becomes available. That said I cant see coach O staying unless that's just where he wants to be. I don't think Kiffin would go to UK he would beg Saban to keep him on staff before going to UK. Even if he entertained the idea I don't think you can do enough at UK to keep he interested long term and he would bolt at the first opportunity.

CTH and Texas are pretty much a lock if the job becomes available.

A guy no one really seems to talk about is maybe a guy like Bud Foster gets a call?
Does Malzahn get a call if he gets the boot from AU?

Lots of things can happen and its only going to get crazier from here on out.

The obligatory Butch Jones call wont even be answered I don't think.

It's a great fit, if one ignores that 99% of world hates the guy, and you could probably increase that percentage to 99.99999999% of the LSU fans. LSU fans were actually pretty active in letting Vol fans know what they had coming there way when they hired the douche.

I am not saying it won't happen, but to me that is the end of LSU football. Skip has already warned that would be a horrible hire.

If the fans had a say Tennessee would have never gotten Dooley....

The guy is a winner. Not the cleanest coach but a winner and a QB guy two things LSU needs.

A winner? There are a lot of words to describe Kiffin, I don't think I would start with that one.
