Les Miles to Texas

That bolded part is a great quote.

I would love to see O run the table this season or lose to only Alabama. It would make their decision more difficult. I don't think O is cut out to be a HC, but they could run into a situation where they lose the team/piss a bunch of players off who enjoyed playing for him if they didn't remove the interim tag.

I think it is pretty difficult to gauge how good of a coach Miles actually was. His game management was questionable at best. He pulled in a lot of talent, but that is relatively easy to do at LSU.

I agree about Herman - I think he is more of a fit at a Texas school than Louisiana because of recruiting.

Miles is a good guy, good coach, and good recruiter.... not as great as a play-caller or time management, let's say he is very bad in those areas. The one thing he was always great at is.... trick or situation plays that gained momentum. He didn't run trick plays much, but when he does he is great at the timing... to me there is no coach that has ever coached that has had better timing... I don't even think its even close.

The problem with Les, is Les doesn't just want to win... he wants to win his way.... unfortunately that really is hard to do in today's game.

Highly doubt that...He is waiting on a coaching job out west so he can be closer to his kids...Besides Kentucky would never spend that kind of money for a football coach.

You think Oregon would entertain hiring Kiffin? Helfrich's seat is getting warmer but there's no way he gets fired this year.

I agree that he would never take a lower tier job. I think he wants to coach for an upper tier SEC or Pac 12 team. What is amazing is that he has already done that in his career.

They already did -- have you seen how much Stoops makes since he got that raise and extension ?

LSU is going after Hermann. HARD. And they are willing to back up the Brinks truck. Texas will do the same though.

Les will be hired, I'm pretty sure. Not sure by who but we will find out by seasons end.

There has been a lot going on in Jimbo's life to where the move was making more sense for sure... not sure any place else makes more sense than LSU to be honest.

"Lot going on in Jimbo's life" like a certain former Gator WR banging Jimbo's wife? I might move.

I didn't want to mention it. Life isn't always easy. There was a deal in principle when the whole thing blew up last year with Les. I was told the money was in place, politics took over.

I'm familiar with the situation with Jimbo to LSU because of my connections at Duke. Sounds like it was a done deal.

Edit: that's a terrible situation with what happened to his family. Wasn't making fun of the guy.

Oregon would probably be a great fit for Kiffin. Kiffin screwed up the USC job, big-time--but he's revived his career big-time as OC at bama. I'm sure he's eager to get a head job again, but he will be selective.

I very much doubt Texas hires Miles--they will want somebody with buzz, not somebody just sacked mid-season. It's a bad look, and Miles might be a spent force anyway.

I originally said Kiffin to Kentucky but what if Texas does sever ties with Strong. He could get back to Kentucky and back in SEC. That seems like a good fit.

He's going to fair even worse there, if that happens. imo

Fairing worse at Kentucky than Texas is a given. But he could probably get them to a 6-6 team regularly imo. He would struggle against his old school as long as Petrino is still there.
