Leslie McDonald

haha actually i believe that nc has offered leslie the option to get his masters there. i believe thats right, but not sure. cant remember if that is what was in his article in the paper or not.

You have no idea.

Under most circumstances it is appropriate to tell NEW COACH that he has "no idea." But on this occasion I think he is right. The hype machine has worked itself into a frenzy. Hopson might leave after his frehman year. But it wont be because he is going to be an early pick. It will be because he makes a bad decision. Most likely he will stay for two years because after his freshman year he is just not going to be a top half of the 1st round type player. He has a lot of things in his game that he has to work on.

Oh, Danny Green just decided to test the waters. So maybe there is more of an opening than we think for him at UNC.

Green's future shouldn't have any impact on Leslie's. Green (a junior) would be gone before Leslie arrived in either case.

I'm gonna hold onto this.

Go ahead. If Hopson is a top half of the 1st round pick after his freshman year then Pearl can officially start billing himself as the best developer of talent in college basketball.

Speaking of people leaving early...what's up with Chism already getting evaluated??? Was that some kind of joke?

Scotty could easily be a lottery pick next year..
Usually if your ranked in the top ten by rivals sources, then you've got enough talent to be a lottery pick after any year.. It's just how much talent and potential you show everyone that determines if your ready to be picked in the lottery

"easily be lottery pick" is huge stretch. He has tremendous potential. He could become the best player UTK has had in a long long time. But he has lots of work to do to reach his potential.

I was thinking Green was a sophmore for some reason.

I've thought the same thing and have a theory.

1) Green's a bench player, so he has flown under the radar a bit compared to the others in his class.

2) Roy's teams have been bunched by year, not spread out, so it's easy to get them confused. He enjoyed Dougherty's class with May, McCants, Felton, etc., then his first big one with TH, Ginyard, Frasor, Green, then Lawson, Ellington, Stepheson, Thompson. It's kind of like watching "Groundhog Day" - different year, new crop of talent.

LOL. I'm going to go watch that now.

But seriously, UNC lands 5* kids so easy its ridiculous.

Dudes, how many years do you think this kid is going to play college before he goes pro if he goes?
