I agree. Just win. Whatever works if QB scrambles, runs and screens so be it. Not sure it’s nerves. He just may miss a few passes. Not yet. You roll with Milton and unless you drop multiple scores behind, you give him the opportunity to win it. Beating the gators in the swamp could go a long way in instilling more confidence.
Also, Milton has 11 starts in college football over a 6 year span. He is hopefully going to improve as the season progresses. But he needs to win this next game. Doesn't matter if its by 1 point. Just win and keep moving forward to the next game. The more games he gets, the more likely the nerves and uneasiness fades away.
No - honestly neither was he - which is a good thing and one of the reasons why he called a player only meeting after the game. It genuinely bothers me when our qb has a qbr around 85th in the country and we can't run our offense - which is predicated on stretching the field, forcing the defense to defend the length and breadth of the field. He does a great job of receiving snaps, executing and handing off, running the team in general. We have a lot of weapons at our disposal - we run best when the qb is accurate or at least simi accurate and stretches the field for us. I would have liked to see more down the field passing once he settled in a little with screens etc. His slant for a touchdown in the endzone was perfect and in stride. We will need a lot more of that against Florida and other teams in the SEC.But were you happy with his stats after the 1 of 8 start?
I'm not here to argue with you but there are some serious flaws in your reply. No - honestly neither was he - which is a good thing and one of the reasons why he called a player only meeting after the game. Well has DAWG in the name of OP they are usually trying to troll early in the year causing division for teem and fans, happens every year.We all get it, you don't have to throw it 100 mph to a receiver with no defenders within ten yards of him, and you should lead receivers not throw behind them, but good Lord, advocating for a true freshman to start at Florida? The dude is a stick.
This has to be a troll, or some of you have truly lost your minds.
lol
Expect Milton has only had one good performance ever. In 6 years. You would think with his ability he'd have done something.....in 6 years besides mop duty which makes his stats look better than they are. Can anyone name one good game performance at anywhere in his 6 years of college football? A terrible Clemson team was the only one I can think of.Yall are crazy. It was a bad day following a weather delay, and also the first home game of the season. Better to have the bad day now. After watching Huepel the last couple years im confident he'll get it fixed.
The bad performance lays just as much on the WRs as it does on Milton in this case.
I’m sure he isn’t either… can guarantee that it wasn’t in the gameplan… I honestly could care less about QBR… it’s been shown not to be the most useful stat… I stand by what I said, there are fans that wouldn’t be happy no matter what. I believe he’s a great leader and a very good football player.1 for 8 for 10 yards I am not happy with. Also a very low qbr. He needs to pick it up.
So you’ve never made a mistake & go on to correct it in the future? This is a stupid reason to claim he’s “ineffective”. Anyway, coach Heupel disagrees with you & so do I.Milton lost gig at Michigan and w Vols by being an ineffective QB. That's just undeniable fact. He lost me when he baled out of bounds vs Ole Miss was it? Anyway...alot at stake this year. Too much that Milton should not continue at QB if you're serious about winning.
Yep Hooker never lost his starting job anywhere and had to relocate. And if he did, it certainly wouldn't have been at a worse program than MichiganMilton lost gig at Michigan and w Vols by being an ineffective QB. That's just undeniable fact. I see no purpose in making a case for someone like yourself who has 87,000 original posts - you can and likely will comment until Volnation is permanently shut down. He wasn't happy with his and the teams performance so he or he and others called a player only meeting. You are twisting comments to fit your narrative.I'm not here to argue with you but there are some serious flaws in your reply.
By your own words, you arent happy with bad stats and you aren't happy when the stats are strong. Seems to me, you're the common denominator in your unhappiness.
I haven't seen anyone say he called a player only meeting because he wasnt happy with his 20 of 25. Do you have a source claiming he called the mtg, why the mtg was called, and if his 20 of 25 stat was part of the discussion?
Our offense is designed around the running game and taking what the defense gives us, play tempo which creates confusion and opportunities. Some of those opportunities stretch the field. Some of those are 4th progression option to a RB 10 yards out from the end zone. CJH is not the bomb squad. You need to take an in depth look at our offensive philosophy to understand it better.
We actually run best when the RBs are gashing for big chunks of yards.
Here's hoping you find happiness and understanding as the season progresses.

Let's both hope you're a little happier all season.I see no purpose in making a case for someone like yourself who has 87,000 original posts - you can and likely will comment until Volnation is permanently shut down. I love Joe, he is a great person and a great teammate. He has to pass more accurately for us to be successful. He would agree with me. I never contended that CJH was the bomb squad - he does intend for his offence to complete more than one pass that is 10 or more yards past the line of scrimmage against Austin Peay and others. To say or argue otherwise is disingenuous and designed to cover our flaws. You certainly have knowledge beyond mine, but my points are valid. I called for HH early last year - how did that work out? If Joe was our point guard and averaging 2 assists per game - I would be on here saying Joe needs to penetrate and distribute the ball better if we are to be successful. This is not a smear or slight of Joe. These are just observations that are also reflected in his 85th in the country qb rating. I find happiness every day and have been blessed beyond measure. I am however a little happier when my Vols win and our offense is running up to its potential.
I will be with more accurate qb play.Let's both hope you're a little happier all season.
