Let the rumblings begin in gatorville

Only way that happens is if they drop a few games. We get them so early that it will not matter. Barring a fluke injury Leak will play the entire game at Knoxville.

I don't want any kid to get hurt and am not afraid to play them with anyone in at qb. But any rumblings about that spot is not good.

Tebow is no one man team, as seen in that game they played against Hoover on ESPN last year... but I'm sure with the other talent at UF around him, he could be pretty dangerous.

Oh I don't even care about that. But if team members start choosing sides of one QB over another then you have serious issues. Also any let down by Chrissy Leak and fans and boosters will be hollering for a change ASAP. :biggrin2:

Well, Leak was certainly behind the learning curve last year with this system, and at times he looked scared out of his mind that he was going to take a shot... I don't see that changing this year. Plenty of Gators will be wanting to back Tebow for starter...

I might be dreaming this up but I seem to recall an ESPN or Rivals article where Urban was putting in some Tebow-specific plays in the playbook. Also said that he would like to get Tebow in on 2,3,4 series a game.

I'll see if I can find where I read that.

Wouldnt mind seeing them have a 5-6 disaster. Tough road schedule, possible QB contrversey???? Smell like 2005 to anyone? Not to mention no running game.

Exactly Bro! And the outcome of the Spring game does not bode well for the swamp lizards. :biggrin2:

Gosh, the lengths you will go to when you want to ding the Gators, "just because." Where do you get a controversy out of this? Meyer says that Leak will start. He also says that Tebow will play. What's the big deal? Makes perfect sense to me.

While UT did try that utterly miserable rotation thing last year, giving up on each of the UT QB's in turn, that is no reason to just basically fabricate a problem in Gainesville to make yourselves feel better about your own debacle last year.

I think it is more along the lines of wishing a pox on your enemy. UT did okay with the QB rotation in 2004. I guess it can work at UF if done properly.

Give us all a break LG. I would be willing to bet I could dig up a few posts of yours since you've been here telling us all how a two quarterback system never works. It's all speculation at this point so who cares.

Gosh, the lengths you will go to when someone brings up anything that might be perceived as negative about your mighty Gators. We have put up with your cheap shots day after day on things a lot more trivial than someone pointing to a possible QB controversy.

Yeah, we should have learned from you guys. The Jesse Palmer/Doug Johnson thing ran so smoothly.

you are probably right. no what the reason it is always a plus to get a young qb as many reps as possible nothing worse than having to throw in a new qb in for injuries or whatever. in a positive situation i hope to see crompton(as in large leads) get some playing time

Now law lizard don't get your panties in a wad. I was pointing out a potential problem and if you don't see that then you are blind. I know what the Urban Myth said, he said what all coaches say. But if you think that some of your fellow UF fans won't be calling for a change after the way the spring game went then your not honest. Fans are fickle.

DIdn't LG even make some posts about when Urban gets his own QB in here next year? :p

You will find no such posts by me. I said that both of your quarterbacks had differing strengths and weaknesses, but that ultimately the poor coaching and lackluster performance of the rest of the team managed to make them both appear equally incompetent.

Now before you go accusing me of just stirring the pot, riddle me this: Am I right?

Gosh, the lengths you will go to when someone brings up anything that might be perceived as negative about your mighty Gators. We have put up with your cheap shots day after day on things a lot more trivial than someone pointing to a possible QB controversy.

Before I say anything else, let me thank you for using my introductory phrase. I will take it as a compliment.

Second, yes, I have taken cheap shots at various and sundry trivial matters. However, hoping against hope that there is a QB controversy at UF in order to bolster your own expectations (read that as "assuage your own fears") about next season at UT is not a cheap shot. Its just ... sad.

Hoping against hope?? :focus:

You guys are good . . . but we're a good 7 or 8 years removed from the days when we hoped against hope for anything against you guys.

Do you use drugs, Danny? Read the above? This board is chock full of Gator haters who think that their team is "better" if ours is worse. That may work out in one game, but season-long it is a poor judge of your own team's status.

No Lee Harvey, I don't use drugs . . . . I just think you're blowing this slightly out of proportion. Maybe a few people think that way, but most are just speculating (probably poorly) on a lackluster performance by Leak in a Spring game. That's it.

I remember a post or two from you about it causing problems but I am too lazy to look for it.

I don't know why you come in hear spouting off like we wrote the frigging article. It's on the Rivals website and the guy brings up a "quarterback debate". Hell, even your own coach says it's great discussion and since this is a discussion board.......

You act like we just insulted your mother or something. If you disagree fine, but to act like it's beyond discussion is absurd.

I don't think it in any way "bolsters our own expectations". As our rival in the East, we hope you go winless every year regarldless of how we perform.

Freak, that's just sad the way you hope against hope against the Gators. I am appalled.
