I smell a QB controversy brewing despite what the Urban myth says.

(rwemyss @ Apr 24 said:Tebow is no one man team, as seen in that game they played against Hoover on ESPN last year... but I'm sure with the other talent at UF around him, he could be pretty dangerous.
(rwemyss @ Apr 24 said:Well, Leak was certainly behind the learning curve last year with this system, and at times he looked scared out of his mind that he was going to take a shot... I don't see that changing this year. Plenty of Gators will be wanting to back Tebow for starter...

(lawgator1 @ Apr 24 said:Gosh, the lengths you will go to when you want to ding the Gators, "just because." Where do you get a controversy out of this? Meyer says that Leak will start. He also says that Tebow will play. What's the big deal? Makes perfect sense to me.
While UT did try that utterly miserable rotation thing last year, giving up on each of the UT QB's in turn, that is no reason to just basically fabricate a problem in Gainesville to make yourselves feel better about your own debacle last year.

Yeah, we should have learned from you guys. The Jesse Palmer/Doug Johnson thing ran so smoothly.(lawgator1 @ Apr 24 said:Gosh, the lengths you will go to when you want to ding the Gators, "just because." you are probably right. no what the reason it is always a plus to get a young qb as many reps as possible nothing worse than having to throw in a new qb in for injuries or whatever. in a positive situation i hope to see crompton(as in large leads) get some playing time(lawgator1 @ Apr 24 said:Gosh, the lengths you will go to when you want to ding the Gators, "just because." DIdn't LG even make some posts about when Urban gets his own QB in here next year?(VolBeef88 @ Apr 24 said:Now law lizard don't get your panties in a wad. I was pointing out a potential problem and if you don't see that then you are blind. I know what the Urban Myth said, he said what all coaches say. But if you think that some of your fellow UF fans won't be calling for a change after the way the spring game went then your not honest. Fans are fickle.
Hoping against hope?? :focus:(lawgator1 @ Apr 24 said:hoping against hope that there is a QB controversy at UF in order to bolster your own expectations (read that as "assuage your own fears") about next season at UT is not a cheap shot. Its just ... sad.

You guys are good . . . but we're a good 7 or 8 years removed from the days when we hoped against hope for anything against you guys.
(vol_freak @ Apr 24 said:Give us all a break LG. I would be willing to bet I could dig up a few posts of yours since you've been here telling us all how a two quarterback system never works. It's all speculation at this point so who cares.
Gosh, the lengths you will go to when someone brings up anything that might be perceived as negative about your mighty Gators. We have put up with your cheap shots day after day on things a lot more trivial than someone pointing to a possible QB controversy.

You will find no such posts by me. I said that both of your quarterbacks had differing strengths and weaknesses, but that ultimately the poor coaching and lackluster performance of the rest of the team managed to make them both appear equally incompetent.
Now before you go accusing me of just stirring the pot, riddle me this: Am I right?
Gosh, the lengths you will go to when someone brings up anything that might be perceived as negative about your mighty Gators. We have put up with your cheap shots day after day on things a lot more trivial than someone pointing to a possible QB controversy.
Before I say anything else, let me thank you for using my introductory phrase. I will take it as a compliment.
Second, yes, I have taken cheap shots at various and sundry trivial matters. However, hoping against hope that there is a QB controversy at UF in order to bolster your own expectations (read that as "assuage your own fears") about next season at UT is not a cheap shot. Its just ... sad.
