Let's compare Jesus and Muhammed (and debate homosexuality) (and Tombstone).

How many people have they killed? How many have they killed in the name of Jesus Christ? Get back to me when they kill even one person.

Oh, you want to look at actual homosexuals killed. My bad, guess you have to start looking at Christian history from the 12th Century forward for that information; or, look at the laws that a Christian President signed in Uganda, in which homosexuals are sentence to death.

Of course, you can always look into sodomy laws in the US (that were only finally deemed invalid by the Supreme Court in 2003) in which the act of sodomy (consensual sodomy) could land an individual in prison for anywhere from twenty years to life, depending on the state.

You are right though, Westboro Baptish Church would never, ever support the killing of homosexuals...

(You might not want to research WBC's response to the Matthew Shepard's brutal death).

They believe that Jesus Christ is God and they root their beliefs in the literal interpretation of the Bible.

Don't agree with the lifestyle. But Im in no way justified in taking violence toward them for it nor praise anyone else that does.

Believing that God is allowing US soliders to die because of homosexuals in the US is silly at best.

Im sure in their book Im not a christian, but I will sleep tonight none the less.

This does what for your argument that Christians have not shown throughout all of history to be just as brutal and ruthless?

I love how you have to go so far back in history. Give me a recent event where a Christian or any other religion has killed hundreds of thousands in the name of Jesus Christ or whoever they believe in.

There is no defense of Islam, you and others keep trying to find one but fail at every attempt. In the year 2011 there is one "religion" that is killing many and is willing to kill as many as they can in the name of their god.

In the mind of radical, extremist Muslims, moderate Muslims who disagree with their acts are not Muslims.

And, we are at an impasse...

Serbia.

Serbia. Uganda.

To argue that because it is in the past it is inconsequential is ludicrous, at best. Without the suppression and murder of many dissenters throughout history, the Christian population would be much lower today than it is.

You feel, as a modern Christian, that you have some moral high ground to stand upon since you never killed anyone; yet, almost everything you have today due to your religion was gained through four millennia of of violent conquests and oppression of dissenters and/or those who did not conform to the mores being advocated by said religion.

The reason the Israelites were released from Egypt was that your God decided to kill Egyptian babies. The reason that the Hebrews were able to gain a foothold in the Mediterranean was because they committed atrocious acts of genocide. The reason that Christians eventually dominated Europe was founded in Constantine's exploitation of said religious and his militarism and perpetuated through violent inquisitions, murders, holy wars, and missionaries who were armed with the sword (and, routinely used that sword).

One of the fundamental reasons the French aided the American colonists was rooted in the violent rivalry between French Catholics and English Episcopalians. It was not due to some noble cause to promote freedom; it was due to France's desire to weaken an enemy that they had had since the Reformation.

"We" (as in you and I) are not. I have never made the claim or distinction that all of islam is in active terror toward non believers. There are many that are just as peaceful as I toward the opposing view. We will not agree with each other. But will also not retort to violence against each other either. Speaking for me at least.

I'm already outside your door...

Don't know if mentioned, but the oldest Presbyterian church in Orlando is breaking away from the main national assembly because they just approved allowing homosexuals to be pastors. Trying to join up with some others to form a new more conservative organization of Presbyterian churches.

Are you arguing that this is not true, according to Christian Canon?

Marginally: kill the man, save the soul.

I am saying that as a Christian and every Christian I know does not believe that every gay should go to hell for eternity. And it's not marginal, big difference is saying someone should go to hell for their actions and cutting that persons head off.
