Our game is no more meaningless than Alabama's game and they have zero players opting out. That's because playing in big post-season games is in their DNA. They wouldn't feel right opting out of a post-season game. Hopefully our players treat this game seriously so that when they are in the playoffs next year it won't be the first time they've prepared for a big post-season collegiate game.

Bama has 10 players that “opt out”. Well they entered the transfer portal which is the same in my book. Maybe Saban “advised” them to.
See bottom of list.

Key players that will opt-out of 2022-23 bowl games

I don't know when how you support your team changed but it has, not just saying Vol fans but fans as a whole. It's a game just like every other game this year. What other game during the season did these fans think, this game is meaningless and fail to support their team that game? Our team is playing, isn't that enough? I bet you not a single player will ever say any game is meaningless, not even the players opting out, but they have concerns , most of them not only for themselves but their families, the future they dreamed about all their young lives, their future financial security. I'm not even a little rich, most of these players aren't either, are you willing to destroy your future to do something you want to do, not talking about sports just your every day livelihood? I don't blame a single one anywhere. The ones who opt out I will celebrate for what they've given to our team and to us as fans .
If you can't get up for any game that your team is playing I only question you as a devoted fan.

The concerns for draftable players have always been there , but it especially hit home this year with Hendon going down right at the end of his career. He's not done , but man, what most likely would have been evaporated and became , what possibly could be if everything falls into place. Huge swing of fortune for such a talented and supposedly great human being. That timing was devastating. So no, I agree. I don't blame anyone with a chance to go to the NFL for opting out.

I vehemently disagree!!! Playing in a NY6 Bowl Game is not meaningless!

Thousands of Vol fans are spending thousands of dollars to travel and cheer on the team they love! A team that has had an incredible season, especially compared to the past decade. It's been over 20 years since TN has been in the Orange Bowl. If the game were meaningless, the university wouldn't send its football team and thousands of fans wouldn't attend. I promise you the players who are making the trip to Miami are pumped up and hungry for another VICTORY!

GBO! 🍊🍊🍊 Let's kick some TIGER BUTT!
