Let's Give Mizzou a Beatdown and Plan for Brock Bowers Return

Another, apparently, delusional fan. They didn't get ranked at 12th or so because somebody liked them. They had played well and if you're still not convinced go back to how they were very competitive with the dawgs in Athens. Mizzou is better than last years team. The former qb Cook replaced now plays for Bowling Green.
Obviously there was some sarcasm in my post. I don't actually expect Huepel to overlook Mizzou and start pre-planning for Georgia.

Nonetheless, I don't really respect Mizzou in terms as a matchup against us. Sure, they have held their own against some good programs. But stylistically, they do not match up well against Tennessee. They haven't in the past, and I see nothing about this year's team to change my opinion. Huepel's offense has steamrolled them both years he has been here. It should be the same on Saturday regardless what number Mizzou has next to their name.

I wish I had your confidence on Mizz. They play hard and with their hair on fire. It’s gonna take all we got. Go Vols!

NO Blue Font to designate as potential sarcasmo in el posto...........el s hugh dropped 49 on them at home as most this season. Averaging giving up 24 pts/game.

Georgia doesn’t seem to do anything different or special. They run the old school Saban model and have superior athletes along the line of scrimmage. That’s about it. It will be about us playing mistake free and trying to match them along the line of scrimmage. Last year they were in our backfield a bunch. Hopefully we can run the ball this time.

That was possibly the attitude when Ga. St came to Neyland a few years ago. Mizzou isn't chump change. Gave Jawja a good game in Athens. So reel it back in partner and play the games on the schedule as they come....🤓
They also gave Memphis and MTSU a good 1-score game

Mizzou is not going to be an easy win like the past two years, I think it will be close. I also think the GA/Miss game will be a close one as well. Whether it's their "super bowl" game or not we need to remain focused and do what we need to do. One game at a time. These next three weekends may be hectic in the CFP rankings..
Kiffen has possibly poisoned his locker room after his recent private comments were made public around their DL with mental health struggles.

I don't think Bowers will be back. Why rush his return? They are doing fine without him. Oscar Delp is playing just fine.

Personally, I wonder if Bowers will be back next year or if he just hangs it up and preps for the combine/draft.

This is the type of thinking that leads to losing to teams like Wyoming.
Not trying to be a Debbie downer because I think tenn goes 9-3 with a good showing next week and I like where this team is at...
But goodness, Tenn hasn't beaten anyone. Best wins were struggling to put away Kentucky? Sneaking by A&M at home? No big win but a bad loss.

I agree 100%
I hope we win every game but just don’t have the confidence, that some seem to have. After the first half of the Bama game, my confidence was building, then the second half started. We just haven’t played a full 4 quarters of quality football. I hope it starts Saturday and continues the rest of the year.

Heupel's past teams had a nasty pattern dropping key winnable games on road. His 7-2 2019 UCF team with Dillon Gabriel at QB lost to a 2-7 Tulsa team in early November on road with a few key 4th down fails when everything was on the line for UCF. Although I think CJH is improving but Florida / Bama games this year are other examples to show he's still an inexperienced coach.

This is a 50-50 game and I think we will win. But don't over look Mizzou. They are a very very good team and this IS their super bowl.

Disagree about the Super Bowl comparison for Mizzou as Tennessee is not Kansas.

I think Bowers wants to play, though I have no idea how much he will be able to play. I doubt it’s much, at least this week.

Either way, he is 100% gone to the NFL after this year.

We got this (my heart talking)- I have been waiting for over 350 days for our revenge on the mutts.

We cannot let UGA come to Neyland and win under any circumstances but I got a sinking gut feeling about both games. This weekend will be Missouri "super-bowl" game and next week will be ours; however, I have a feeling that Kirby will hold out Bowers for the Ole Miss game and start him at Neyland for their extra team motivation and inspiration. We have our own inspiration...SEC East Champs🤬

Go Vols
TN is UNDEFEATED in Neyland with the new V O L S letters! Can't Lose!
