Let's talk Memphis

But as far as the talent. There is a ton of talent in both basketball and football. The coaching in basketball in 100 x's better than the football coaching.

Fine with me. I don't want to be around a bunch of dip**** rednecks anyway.

I can handle a few rednecks here and there. Sure beats the prospect of being shot, stabbed, or mugged whenever I want to take a stroll outside.

That isn't really my point. Most people from Memphis probably couldn't even point Nashville out on a map. Not saying they are stupid, but most don't even consider themselves Tennesseans.

Neither do I.

I've had to go to Memphis about a dozen times, and I just don't like the place. Sorry.

I've been to Memphis. It isn't a fun trip. Ever. I'm sorry if that offends you.

That is not what offends. You don't like it fine. It's definitely not for everyone, which is cool. I just hate the leave Memphis out crowd. We are part of the state and there are a lot of us Vol fans here.

Sorry if I got out of line.

That being said, there is a ton of in state talent here. It's just raw, and UT didn't recruit here as much after the Means fiasco.

Sorry if I got out of line, but the trucker is a racist and you don't want to be associated with that.

No different then any other large metropolitan area. Ever been to New Orleans?

I know this very well. I live about two miles from Beale. My kids play in the front yard. I haven't ever had any trouble. You don't like it fine.

You're right in that I don't want to associate myself with that guy, and I really didn't mean to offend anyone.

The biggest reason I say that is because of the geography. It is so far away from Knoxville, the instate pitch means nothing; so while we can say it is instate until we are blue in the face, it won't mean squat after a recruit tries to drive from Memphis to Knoxville.

That said, I'm just not an Elvis guy either :).

But hey, Grizzlies are my second favorite NBA team though.

Well like I said the Means fiasco really changed everything for Fulmer. After that he didn't put forth the effort that he did prior to it. We should have had Willis, if I remember correctly we didn't even offer. I know he is not a Memphis guy, but he is a West TN guy. Lane flew to Memphis the first night he was coach. Dooley, meh, he just pissed a bunch of people off. So, hopefully the next coach can get back here, and hopefully swing a few.

If you ever come back. Let me know. I'll show ya a goodtime.

I was raised in an area that is equal in color. Because i dont want to live in a predominately black area doesnt make me a racist. And if you are black which i am assuming you are. I doubt you would want to live in a all white area. If i offended you im apologizing. But you know its the truth.

Nope. I am as white as my Irish heritage lets me be. But, you should have worded it differently. I'll remove my posts because if you say your not, then I believe you. Just word it a little differently next time please.
