Kash Patel, a former adviser on Donald Trump’s National Security Council who also served as chief of staff to the acting secretary of Defense, continues to hold sway with the former president and would likely serve in a national security capacity in a second Trump administration.

“We will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government but in the media. Yes, we’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections – we’re going to come after you,” Patel said on a podcast hosted by another former Trump adviser, Steve Bannon.

“Whether it’s criminally or civilly, we’ll figure that out. But yeah, we’re putting you all on notice,” Patel added. “We’re actually going to use the Constitution to prosecute them for crimes they said we have always been guilty of but never have.”

Erica Knight, a spokeswoman for Patel, told CNN that he was specifically referring to targeting journalists “who break the law, not just aimlessly prosecuting.” Knight also shared a statement from Patel following the podcast interview: “When President Trump takes office in 2025, we will prosecute anyone that broke the law and end the weaponized, two tier system of justice.”

Trump has repeatedly suggested he would retaliate against media organizations that he feels cover him negatively. In a social media post last month, Trump said the government should punish MSNBC for “illegal political activity.”

This is some scary sh!t. The Republicans have been complaining that there is too much censorship of social media that promotes right wing points of view, but here they are saying they will prosecute media who have criticized Trump. Trying to say only for those that "broke the law" is pointlessly vague.

It's odd we would expect him to not go after in a retaliatory fashion. If it's good for one side, the other will adopt the corruption. This is the American brand of politics we've elected. Roost your chickens and nite your post.

Would those that broke the law be like say election interference of Hunters laptop, Pee tapes, Russia Hoax. Those on the Fisa warrant that lied. And state election committee members that admitted chain of custody of votes and voter restrictions, unsecure elections
. Etc...there plenty of illegal activity that is overlooked in Dem strongholds

How is it a crime for the media to report on these things and to comment on them? What statute are they violating?

Voting rights acts of 1965

Whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of an examiner or hearing officer knowingly and willfully falsifies or conceals a material fact, or makes any false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements or representations, or makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry, shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

That would take care of anyone e associated with Russian Hoax. Civilly all MSM could be sued for the hunter laptop in a class action at a minimum.

I've been at work doing trial prep beginning at 3am everyday this week and it will continue through the weekend with trial starting on Monday. And now these a$$holes are coming with decent settlement numbers.
That sounds like crap? Apologies, wish I could relate but We work in completely different fields. I am a big fan of Matlock though.

Trump didn't collude with the Russians either but that didn't stop the gov't from going after him. This is called turnabout is fair play. He can harass them and wiretap them for 3 yrs and never file any charges. That's how this works, huh? Paybacks are hell

Yea I dont quite understand why anyone would be surprised if DJT does go scorched earth or any GOP winner for that matter...Dems changed the way the political game is played. So why get upset when we play by the rules they set?
