99% of the best rappers are storytellers (Redman being one of the exceptions). Wayne just raps (I use the term rap loosely) about nonsense and his flow/cadence is just weak.

Also, of All the rappers you named not one of them is from the south. For the most part, outside of Tupac, if it doesn't come out of the south then I don't mess with it. I never have been much for west coast/northern rap.

Everyone's opinion is just what it is...an opinion. Making statements like Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive leads one to think that your opinion of what rap is, greatly differs from most.

If rap is an art form then Lil Wayne is working with macaroni and bow tie pasta, while rappers like Lupe and Mos Def are using pastels.

edit: and I am from the south....I like Luda, 8ball, i even liked No Limit (early stuff)

I will say that over the last 6 months lil wayne has fallen off a little bit, but the carter, Carter II, Drought 3, and The Leak are all really good albums. If you don't think so you either haven't heard them or you are ignorant.
