Lil Wayne song good for Recruiting? references Lane Kiffin

Its one line in the middle of one song on a random mixtape. It doesn't have nearly the impact most people here seem to think.

If it was some song that hit it big on the radio or something, then it might be bigger

I doubt anyone commits just because of the song but it could get some kids interest up. You never know what pushs people buttons. Like tennessee391 said, "it can't hurt."

It is on his new album. I'm not sure it will get on the radio much though.

I could have sworn it was just a mixtape?

If its on an album that'd help out a little bit too. I still dont think it'd have a big impact at all unless it became a big song though.

If it gets a big enough buzz on the internet then I can see it getting mentioned on ESPN or any college show as another way Lane is getting UT publicity. I do hate that it's in the same line as "smoke weed" that's going to be hard to put on the air if it is mentioned.

This could be the greatest thing to ever happen to UT recruiting, unreal. I hate Lil Wayne and think he is an untalented loser, but this is just great. I assume most of these recruits love Lil Wayne. The publicity this will get within those recruiting circles is huge.

The only real way for it to be good is for him to use it which I am sure he will. If it hits the radios and is a big song then it will help. If its just on the album they will never know about it. How many people especially HS kids actually buy CDs anymore?

It's nice to see that one of the most popular, highly successful hip hop artists follows Tennessee football.

My ears are bleeding! Gawd, that's some bad stuff. What's even more appalling, is that people really like this crap and actually spend money on it! You think if I vomited into a bag with a microphone attached to it that someone might buy it? Oh well, great. Now we have us a convicted felon who's just begun serving a 1 year prison sentence associated with us. I am so proud....

Not due for sentencing until 2/10, it's not like he's gotten behind the wheel drunk and killed someone or is a cocaine kingpin ...

A thug is a thug is a thug.

get off your high horse.
How many UT football alums have killed people...

and people, like it was mentioned, this is not on an actual album, this is on a mix tape, he puts out more than 50 mix tapes a year.

I could see it gaining attention on the mid day ESPN programs, Lil Wayne has been on Cold Pizza, Around the Horn, and they talk about him plenty on PTI. With the way Kiffin is a lighting rod for the media I could see them bringing this up on shows such as those.

You cant be serious. Lil Wayne is one of the most popular rap artists out there. It dosent matter if highschool kids dont buy CD's (but of course they do) they will hear it even if it isnt on the radio.

If it looks like a thug, walks like a thug and raps like a thug.....it's a thug. Not on a high-horse here, it's just sad to see what the music industry has devolved into.

How can you say Lil Wayne is talentless he is the best rapper alive every song he does is off the head not paper and for everyone that says its just a mixtape most great Wayne songs come from mixtapes which more people listen too cause its where his best music is. I mean how many recruits have Lil Wayne on there playlist whether it be in a car IPod or whatever else a lot I would say 85%
