Lincoln Riley to LSU picking up steam

I wouldn’t be so sure about CJH not leaving if momma comes calling. I hope Riley doesn’t go to LSU for that reason. Don’t want the sniffing around in the least.

As much as I like Heupel, Oklahoma will have him pretty far down their list.

It’d take several coaches to turn them down in order for Heupel to get serious interest.

Kinda like Kiffin and So Cal? What was Lane. 8th choice?

You are mistaken if you think Heupel thinks OU is his Momma.

I just don't see it. Could be wrong. But I think LSU ends up with one of these three...Matt Campbell, Dave Aranda or Mark Stoops

OU fans don't seem to be that concerned over losing Riley. Do not want to get in a bidding war with LSU. They seem concerned that Riley has reached his peak. Of course they could be right - Lincoln inherited a powerhouse program and quarterback play is getting worse. Some names out there include Shane Beamer - have not seen Heupel mentioned on the Sooner boards. There seems to be resentment over Riley being his own QB coach and OC - fans are bummed over lack of defense too. Just reporting from message board scuttlebutt. I was surprised over the Shane Beamer chatter but I forgot he came to South Carolina from Oklahoma. Josh must have been pretty discredited when he was let go by Stoops and maybe the sour taste from that poor season where Heupel was fired still lingers? I agree he would be down on their preferred list. Will be interesting to see what happens the next day or 2.

Call me crazy. But I think a coach like Mark Stoops would actually be decent at LSU. You don’t need to be an elite recruiter there. They automatically get all the top talent in a talent ridden state. Get a coach who gets the most out of his players.

That’s not crazy, I believe he could be a pain in Sabans rear there after a few years.

The last 3 coaches have won a national title at LSU. I’d take Stoops over 2 of them.
