This is not a troll but a pretty little known story about how UT ended up with Davie Boy. Let me preface by saying that I have not been a Hart supporter at all, but this story is comes from a very credible source. When Dave interviewed for the job at UT he had some level of interest in the job, but his main goal in interviewing with UT was to secure the AD job at Bama when Mal Moore retires (which is thought to be approaching in the next year or two). In other words he wanted to be thought of as the AD in waiting. After the UT interview and offer Dave went back to Mal Moore to discuss the future of his position and if he would be in the running for Moore's position upon his retirement. Moore had always looked to Hart as his successor but now Davie Boy wanted it formalized. In trying to formalize the deal with Hart Moore ran into staunch opposition from.....you guessed it......St. Nicholas Saban himself. Evidently, the board of Trustees took Saban's thoughts over Moores in the future of Bama Athletics. Evidently Saban didn't care for Hart's Napoleonic ways and felt his record as an AD wasn't that impressive. Just thought it was interesting that Saban has screwed us twice with his rejects first Dooley and now with Hart.

Don't forget that Sentimore & Sunseri also came from Alabama.

As sarcastic as you are being, Hart, Booger Picker Jimmy, and many fans feel this way. I promise you more then half the donors were willing to dish the money out for a big name coach. I know this because I happen to know one of the mid-level donors through my best friend. I don't pretend to know people or falsify news for the fame or the attention on here. I'm simply relaying true info I heard from a mid-level donors mouth. We may be in debt, but the money is their and so is the support from the big time donors. The decision to take so long on the hiring process and to eventually go with a mid-level paid coach was Hart and Cheek's ultimately. It really sucks for CBJ because I like him as a coach here. I've heard he's so humble, and embraces UT as his dream job. He wants to be a VFL, and he wants greatness back here. He's a great motivator and has some great ideas to build a family atmosphere in the locker room. I think we will be a well disciplined team under CBJ, and I do feel CBJ will get us back to winning 9-10 games a year within the next four-five years. Unfortunately, he has a ton of seniors that will leave after this year on the O-line and D-line with very little depth to back them up. CBJ we have to recruit great for us in 2014 on the O-Line and D-line if we want to win some big games in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. CBJ will have to really coach these guys up, especially our young players. CBJ will also have some very hard decisions to make if he begins to see holes/weaknesses in his coaching staff, especially with the guys that's been with him his whole six years of coaching. He'll have to act quick and with his mind and not his heart if he begins to see his coaches from Cincy having trouble recruiting in the SEC. I feel it was the right decision to bring his guys on as he is comfortable around them. I also feel they will all be great player developers, but their recruiting methods and abilities are still up for question. I for one will give my full support to CBJ and staff until I no longer see it fit to do so, and that won't be anytime soon no matter the outcome of this up coming season. GO VOLS

I don't know if the story is true but I have been uneasy having people in positions such as AD with ties to Ala. If y'all don't think Ala would stick it to us intentionally then you're all delusional.

Stick it to us intentionally in the form of Dave Hart? Now that is imaginative. What about an AD with ties to Florida, such as was the case with Doug Dickey? And, that was after DD had already stuck it to us by leaving for UF as HC.

I don't know why, but when someone on the site says from a "credible source" I am reminded of this...

"WE" DIDN'T, because no one had input into the process. Instead, the clueless and worthless Mike Hamilton did. Even the UT power brokers likely were surprized/shocked when Hammy delivered the gem named DD.

Will you please name your source for this information?

You people are something. maybe the guy didn't present the story properly, but it sounds plausable; if you know how Nicky operates. Total Control. Hired his old buddy to do Play by Play when Stabler screwed up the last time. Saban could hire and fire ANYONE at Alabama he wanted----from the President on down. He is a God there; and runs the Show with NO interference from Anyone. Mal says 'Yes Sir".

I don't think Saban screwed us with Hart. I'm pretty pleased with Hart's work at UT thus far.
