I don't know if the OP has some past e-cred problems, but the story is very, very plausible and seems consistent with the coaching search problems.

Leave it to the majority of VN to dismiss it a priori then.

If the OP has some serious cred issues, could some elaborate with a concrete example?

fart and booger eater will try to stop him every step of the way by making the kids read the books and comply with ncaa rules. they'll probably make the team follow other ridiculous rules.

but, espn, fart and booger eater, the ncaa and mike slive are no match for god, butch jones and the university of tennessee.

This story sounds very credible. Moore is very close to retirement, and it is extremely plausible that Hart went to him about the job. And I have no doubt that Saban was consulted--and if Saban had a problem with Hart, there's no way he would have hired or told that he'd be hired. He'd be out--on his arse. Hart also seems very Napoleonic--very much my impression.

Well, today was a nice little reminder of exactly who our Athletic Director is.

The guy who let Jay Graham get away, and the guy who went begging Cheek for money so he wouldn't have to hire Gruden.

Is the OP story plausible? Oh hell yes.

Moore had always looked to Hart as his successor but now Davie Boy wanted it formalized. In trying to formalize the deal with Hart Moore ran into staunch opposition from.....you guessed it......St. Nicholas Saban himself. Evidently, the board of Trustees took Saban's thoughts over Moores in the future of Bama Athletics. Evidently Saban didn't care for Hart's Napoleonic ways and felt his record as an AD wasn't that impressive. Just thought it was interesting that Saban has screwed us twice with his rejects first Dooley and now with Hart.
