How many games a year does Bruce Bowen foul out of under the current rules?

That's true. I'm just thinking back to the days of hand checking out on the perimeter, mainly guard play but you could be right. I just don't see them letting an entire team getting away with that these days like the Pistons or Knicks used to do.

IIRC, Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts were there too

Best shooter I ever saw play college ball, and one of the most entertaining players I ever saw. He had a remarkable 1st half at TBA one year (I want to say he scored close to 30 pts), and UT practically shut him down in the second half...and won, I believe. I think Allan Houston was on that team.

Hey this is Hat I am using finevols computer so here goes.....
Cal sucks bad so I see they getting beat harder than Rodney. Pac 10 sucks to and has no chance of being productive........does this help?

Cal's playing good basketball. Beating Missouri is a nice win. I'll be interested to see Beasley match up with Anderson and Harden. Both of thoseguys have some experience and fairly polished games. It will be a nice test for the Manchild. I'll certainly be watching that one.

thx.

hardin's looked pretty good, but i've never seen any indication he is an NBA player despite what the experts think. I imagine they will have problems with our size when they are on offense, but I worry about our offensive production. patrick christopher has actually looked great, but my guess is that once we play some teams with speed at the guard position that we'll have serious problems scoring from the outside. Ben braun still hasn't proven he knows how to coach offense.

1. Doesn't appear to be a great crowd tonight. The demise of St. John's hoops is really killing college hoops interest in the Big Apple.
2. I've never seen this many scouts and GMs at a regular season venue. The bars and restaurants are a who's who of NBA management.
3. I'm always stunned at what a poor job Notre Dame does of parlaying their name recognition into a basketball following.
4. Knick fans are already arguing as to who they would rather have between Rose, Beasley, and Mayo.
5. There's nothing better in sports than pulling into Penn Station on game night. God, it's good to be home.

Just met one of my few idols, Dr. Jerry Buss. As usual, he's with a young lady about 1/3 his age. Easily the coolest owner in sports history. Third Base Dolan and Crank Steinbrenner should take notes.

the only thing better than a plane full of 1976 Miami Dolphins crashing would be a plane full of 1976 Dolphins crashing with Thomas flying it.

1. Beasley is even better than I thought. He has Derrick Coleman level talent. He'll be as good as he wants to be.
2. If you like old school hoops, you have to be a fan of Luke Harangody. His game is like one of those grainy instructional videos from the '50s.
3. Bill Walker is starting to get his explosiveness back.
4. I've seen it roughly 1,000 times, but Jimmy V's ESPY speech still gives me chills.
5. I've just never been impressed with Mike Brey. If he didn't have Duke on his resume, he'd be coaching in the Colonial or the MAAC right now.

My Public Speaking teacher had us watch Jimmy V's speech the other day...

It's still amazing.

1. Not a bad first game. What it lacked in artistic merit, it made up for in competitiveness.
2. It is impossible to overstate how much K-State misses David Hoskins. He's the difference bewtween this team going to the Sweet 16 and missing the tournament entirely.
3. Notre Dame is what they have always been under Brey. A bubble quality team.
4. The teams in the second game are trying to outdo each other in warmups. Everyone is busting out their best dunk.
5. When this game is over, my basketball intelligence will be markedly improved. Joe Dumars, Bob Staak, Vinnie Del Negro, Fred Hoiberg, Gar Forman , and Kevin Mackey are all within earshot. Time for me to practice the art of listening.
