Lofton back with the Energy

I am actually Chris Lofton. I've decided to turn down the deal in Russia and head on back to the D-League. I just felt I needed to keep my word to Shaun1985.

Heard there's a head coach in Tampa who has land in the area...Wonder if we can hire him

So, I guess the announcement his agent made today that Lofton is on his way to Russia later this week was inaccurate.

that's cool, maybe he can give us some insite on the whole russian brides scam.

Please tell me why Lofton's agent let him go over to Russia and basically play very little? Here's a link to his stats since signing with the Russian team: Chris Lofton Basketball Player Profile, stats, biography, career - EUROBASKET

He's played in a total of 3 games. 2 regular games and one Euro Challenge game. I don't care if he did get more money. He's not playing minutes/games nowhere near like he was in the NBDL for the Energy.

I think it was a bad decision as far as gaining experience and getting a shot in the NBA. The money might be a different story but there's no way Chris Lofton should see that little bit of playing time.

I don't understand it either. He was really thriving with the Energy.

Yeah! It's not making much sense! He's getting quite a bit more money but other than that it was a stupid move. He went from a starter in the D-League to a bench player.

I wonder how Chris feels about all this now? I bet we see him back in the states for next season with a shot in the NBA and/or at least with a NBDL team.

I still don't get why his agent pulled off this deal for Chris. It's only hurt him. I'd get rid of that agent Chris! :shakehead:

The more I look at his stats in the Russian League the madder I get. 21 minutes total played in only 3 games since he signed.

His agent needs to be fired. It was a bad move! I can't believe he's hardly even making it on the floor. Good grief! :shakehead:

Ask Diddy what it's all about, he'll tell you.

Yes its impossible to understand why someone would want to make 400+k per year when he could be flippin burgers

Sorry guys! No need for the criticism. As for the money. Yeah, 400k is a lot but we all know Lofton loves to play. He's not getting on the floor much. There's no way he can be happy EXCEPT for the mula! I hope to see him back in the good ol' USA for next season.

I bet if you asked him he'd say playing time would be more important than the money! The NBDL pay is quite low but Chris has to be wondering about going from a starting job to a bench job. His agent must be poor because he got more money just by sending Lofton over there. I'm sorry but I question this deal for Lofton's benefit on the court. :shakehead:

I'd take 400k to sit down and watch any day of the year. Need someone to sign up for that tomorrow? I'll gladly oblige

Funny comment on Govolsxtra....one guy said he looked up the location of where Lofton signed in Russia and said...he'll be playing again just north of Georgia.

Lofton might as well be playing streetball here in the US except the pay is better in Russia! :p He sure isn't getting on the Russian floor much though!

Chris has had a foot injury that has been restricting his lateral movement and on-the-ball defense. He is unable to play more than a few minutes a game. Fortunately, he is recovering. I will be happy to answer any other questions from fans regarding Chris via email. Thanks for continuing to support him.

Welcome to the boards and thank you for this information. Chris is probably my all-time favorite Vol so while I'm not happy to hear he has an injury, I am happy to hear that he isn't missing out on play time because they don't feel he's capable.

Keep us updated whenever you have the time!

He'll like Russia much better than Turkey too... the women are stunning, and Russian is much easier to learn than Turkish..

That makes sense. Given his stats in he first game, when he scored 10 pts while making both of his 3s in just a few minutes, it seemed odd that his time would be cut.
