Lofton back with the Energy

Chris has had a foot injury that has been restricting his lateral movement and on-the-ball defense. He is unable to play more than a few minutes a game. Fortunately, he is recovering. I will be happy to answer any other questions from fans regarding Chris via email. Thanks for continuing to support him.

Thanks for the information. I thought something had to be wrong. He was hardly playing. I know he had an infection in his toe/foot before signing with the Russian team. Before going to Russia, Lofton missed the final two games with the Energy with this foot infection. Is this the same injury?

Yes, same foot injury. He is also battling a hamstring problem as of the last 2 games. As you would expect, the team loves him and wants him to get healthy as soon as possible. I will do my best to post updates for Vol fans regarding all my clients who are former Vols (CJ, Chris, Tyler, Wayne) via Facebook or twitter (jkarnes1). Thanks again for supporting these guys!

Yeah! It's not making much sense! He's getting quite a bit more money but other than that it was a stupid move. He went from a starter in the D-League to a bench player.

I wonder how Chris feels about all this now? I bet we see him back in the states for next season with a shot in the NBA and/or at least with a NBDL team.

I still don't get why his agent pulled off this deal for Chris. It's only hurt him. I'd get rid of that agent Chris! :shakehead:

Perhaps this would be a good time to apologize to his agent since he is on this board.

Apologize? My opinion still hasn't changed. I still think it wasn't a good basketball move for Lofton. A money move, YES but not a good basketball sense move in my opinion.

I got the impression your opinion was based on his diminished playing time. His agent explained the reason for that so I think it would be hard to evaluate the move with him being hurt. Just seems a bit harsh to say that about his agent IMO.

Thanks for the updates! Weezy and Lofton are probably two of my favorite Vols. Has anyone heard anything about JP and Maze?

Well, my opinion was mostly based upon him going over there to play period. However, seeing his playing time not being much that added to my personal opinion. I see it's been due to lingering injuries but still doesn't change my opinion.

I'm not personally attacking his agent. I was simply saying he should be fired with the move. Nothing personal there! Just a statement! I say this strictly as a basketball move and not a move about money.

He's making more mula but I feel it wasn't a good basketball move for Lofton's NBA chances. Scouts were already saying Lofton could get a look by some NBA team soon enough. This move didn't help that! That's my point!

Chris Lofton is never playing in the NBA. The sooner you come to grips with that, the sooner you won't make ridiculous comments relating to the firing of someone who just raised his client's salary 20 fold.

Okay! Are you an NBA scout/expert? Lofton can make an NBA team as a 3-pt specialist. He doesn't have a good enough all-around game to be much more than a 3-pt specialist. But, he could possibly make a team doing just that. These type players do make in it the NBA you know!

His chances aren't high but I think he can make it for a team looking for 3-pt. shooting and especially as a specialist. You saying he isn't never going to make it is just an opinion just like mine about his agent. :p Nothing ridiculous about anything I've said! :eek:hmy:

I am certainly no scout, but I think the chances are slim that he plays in NBA with exception of a 10 day contract in a time of need. I still disagree with your comment about the agent as it seems Jared Karnes has put Lofton in good situations thus far. Also, as has been pointed out already, Lofton's financial state is considerably better. Isn't that a big part of being an agent? I disagree with your view but you have defended it so I respect your opinion I just respectfully disagree and think the agent comment is silly. Karnes has pretty good client list and track record so far. If he's good enough for Eric Berry, he's good enough for Lofton. I do admit I have some bias in on the issue however

Fair enough! We all are entitled to our own opinions.
