Longwood vs. Radford

Uros is fine as long as he is moving his feet on defense. He had a bad habit early in the year but has broke it except for the occasional relapse. His close range shooting is his biggest weakness but knows his role and doesn't try to be something he isn't.

On the offensive end, Uros is a very good passer. The guards are using him well to get space from their defenders. He’s also really good at sealing off and creating lanes to the rim. He also tips out missed shots that his teammates end up getting credited with the rebounds. He’s been filling a role perfectly. Most of his minutes are early while neither team is in the bonus shooting free throws. He wins most of the opening tips which often creates an advantage with an extra possession.

On the other end he’s doing a good job with the help defense. He moves pretty well for a 7 footer. He’s not just standing under the basket swatting away shots at the rim. He’s out blowing up screens and frequently defending the perimeter.

Posters that constantly trash Uros are just showing their ignorance.

I would also say that he seems to intimidate guys trying to come into "his house" usually after the 2nd-3rd time they try. He is pretty tough when he gets into the flow of the game. I expect he will improve as an all-round player in the next year or so.

Do most folks not understand that the vast majority of folks 7’ tall are awkward and unathletic. Basketball is the only sport in which someone that tall can effectively participate and only if they are one of the few that height with the necessary athletic talent. It’s like our fan base sees 7’ and automatically equates one of the NBA types.
I don't know, I'd love to have him as a tight end. He would be devastating in the red zone.

RB will play everybody ... assuming we get a big lead.
That will cut significantly into the point differential.
RB will spread the minutes out and try to keep everyone's minutes under 25.
That is a recipe to keep players fresh for the 2nd game and take a long view on a 6 game stretch.
Tennessee by 12 ... 76-64

Diboundje’s participation over the last half of the season sure is a head scratcher. Perhaps he’s had an undisclosed injury. Despite not playing he sure seems to have been enjoying being part of the team.

I was surprised to see him yesterday as I understood they were hoping to RS him under the predicted change expected in the RS rule. Wonder if the post season doesn’t apply?

That’s the first thing that I thought about. Or maybe they’ve found out that the RS is no longer a possibility. I’m sure whatever is going on it’s not just random. The staff has the NCAA intelligence and lots of other info. It’s also possible that they expect redshirts to be available as long as no more than 7 games were participated in. Quinten played in 5 games through 12/14. Then 1/15 at Kentucky and yesterday. If they knew they had 7 games available then at Rupp and in the NCAAT would be two good ones to expose him to.

When QD played early on I thought that he was about equal to Mashack and even looked better in at least one of the games he played in.

My guess is against Michigan you’ll see much less Bailey and more Plav/Aidoo…yesterday was a matchup that we needed to go small predominantly, we will likely struggle to do so against Michigan.

From your contacts within the program do you have any insights into Bailey’s huge drop off in shooting this season? Does he still make the same shots in practice just not in games? It’s been one of the strangest developments during the Barnes tenure

If you look at Bailey’s numbers over his career his good shooting nights have almost exclusively come against lower competition/mid majors/games already decided which have padded his numbers a bit to look better than they actually are…seems there’s definitely a little mental block as far as shooting goes.

Thanks for the insight.

Interesting the JJJ said (told) the coaches to put VB into the game yesterday.
That says something about JJJ that I have not seen. We got a glimpse of it ... when JJJ stepped between Chandler and Barnes at the Ole Miss game.

JJJ has stepped up more and more throughout the later part of the season, he’s becoming very vocal and the voice this team looks to.
