If you read my posts, I'm not a big Pearl fan. That's not the issue here. We all need to stop acting like children...from both sides. Let's just celebrate this win. Yes, we can still argue about UT basketball. What the future holds is still up for debate. We can argue Pearl's strengths and his weeknesses. But just a little bit, let's stop calling people out in threads (on both sides), and enjoy the win.

GO VOLS!!!!!!

Sorry but the Pearl haters needed to be called out. Support your team, coaches and players.

This sounds like the Pearl haters can dish it but they can't take it. They jumped all over the people who supported him. I think it's more childish than anything to insult your own coach. The people who were doing so probably haven't coached any sport of any kind. Not like they could do a better job although you wouldn't know otherwise. Hat probably offed himself.

I only watch the bball after fb is done. That was a killer game. Missed my Packers losing darn it. It was just one heck of a game.

I want to get a few opinions on something real quick... In your opinion, what is a bigger victory?

- The win yesterday vs #1 Kansas
- UT reaching the Elite 8

I agree.....lets enjoy this win and all of the positive publicity we are getting for a change. I support our coach and team and think they are handling the situation incredibly. But I don't bash someone with an opposite view....I can't understand why someone bashes someone because they support our coach. We can disagree but the vile some have is hard to believe. Shouldn't we leave that stuff for the Bamers, Gators, Dawgs, etc....not for fellow Vol fans. I am still on a Vol high!

UT has never reached the elite 8 in the history of the program. That would be kind of a given it would be the bigger accomplishment.

A Final Four appearance is one thing, but the Elite Eight doesn't by any means indicate that a program has reached the "next level." I'm not about to turn down a chance to finally get past the Sweet Sixteen but, given the circumstances surrounding Tennessee at the time of their win over Kansas, it's quite clear that the victory yesterday is a bigger accomplishment than beating a 15, 7 and 3 seed in respective games one year and then faltering early the next.

The win against Kansas, far and away, means more to Tennessee basketball than a simple Elite 8 berth.

Astounding.

You dont hang banners in the gym because you beat the #1 ranked team in the nation.....you do when you reach the elite 8.

Plenty of schools don't hang banners unless they reach the Final Four, which is why reaching one can legitimately be considered a "milestone." You don't get banners for beating the #1 school either, but that win certainly meant more to me than an Elite Eight loss ever could.
