We have a few days rest on them, as they'll play Thursday night and get a quick turnaround to Saturday. This should play into our hands, if we take the exact same approach as we did versus Georgia. They cannot match our size and we'll get layups and free throws all day. How we lost to them before still confuses me. We just cannot afford another loss like that. And if we keep feeding Stokes, instead of taking a ton of threes, we may finish this season on a roll.

Didn't we already lose to this team in Knoxville?

Now you think we can pull of a win on the road at thier place?

Good news @ the rest days. But, I have a bad feeling @ this one. Note b/c they are so good, but b/c we just had our usual blowout win. That means we are ready for a flop if history is any indication.
I know CCM needs to find an answer to that lanky guard that kept getting penetration against our D in TBA. That kid tore us apart dishing or scoring by getting to the paint. Lock JR on him from the locker room to the water fountain and take that away. If so, we will dominate them, even with a typical followup offensive drought.
If it works, remember me as an option in the coaching change. I can be had for less than $1M.

I wouldn't say that kid tore us up in TBA, they scored what 57 pts total?! That should be good enough to win every game defensively. Our problem is we did nothing but jack threes and miss free throws in the second half. If we force feed the post, and get a shot or two from Barton, we win this game.

Two road games back to back. We are 2-4 in road games. Not a good sign!

Three of those four road losses came to NCAA tournament teams, Missouri, Florida, and Kentucky. Texas A&M isn't in this category, or close. The saying is you live and die by the 3, and its true, the thing is there's no use in this team letting that saying hold true to form. If we are going to be a "tougher breed" then the 3 ball should be the 2nd option, first being stokes and yes, maymon. McRae can drive at will, and Richardson has a very good mid range game.

One thing I noticed in that game was that Jordan hardly had a single touch in the final 12 min.

You're right, we didn't have the right people taking decent shots. Sloppy half court offense, bad contested shots by the wrong players also. We should've fed the post way earlier in the shot clock and worked inside out first, you get better looks, instead of working it 25 seconds around the top of the three point line then inside late in the shot clock. We did that alot, and it seemed to create lots of rushed contested shots inside and out.

after looking at the rpis of our remaining foes. unfortunately. it doesn't matter at this point whether we win out or not- it is already too late. These unexplainable losses to Texas A&M, Utep, etc have sealed our fate and CMs. The present predictions having us as a 10 seed are based on the assumption that the best teams will win each conference tourney - and that never happens. This Vol team has much talent and it is perplexing as to why they play so poorly every few games. Too bad-0- this should have been an easy year to get to the NCAA with all the good players on the squad. The obvious place for the blame is with the coaching, no way around it, so, so Mr Martin will not be back next year, for better or worse. I , myself, would like to have Bruce back, but I think that is a longshot bc there seems to be bad feelings still present on both sides. A real pity. When are we gonna catch a break?

I went back and checked the 3 point percentage in all of the road games. Your statement you live and die by the 3 is nothing but accurate as far as this team is concernced. In the two road wins we were 17 of 35 from beyond the arc. In the four road losses we were a combined 14 of 76!!:banghead2:

If UT limits turnovers and wins the rebounding battle while taking midrange shots, they should win against A&M.

Feeding Stokes should be the number one option for the rest of the season.

This game shouldn't be remotely close. Again, I said shouldn't. Use the same approach we used against UGA and feed Stokes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Then, just to be sure we know what we are doing, give him the ball some more. Play from the inside out.
