Looks like beer at Neyland was a success

"Natural disaster"...that's otherwise referred to as "running out of beer", right? Seems logical, haha.

Well it's a 24oz so 2 beers really. So 6 bucks a beer if you look at it in single beer size... so not crazy expensive if you think about it. However they buy them at 21.16 a case and 12 comes in the case. They are making 122 and change per case they sell. But of they sold 1.5 million dollars worth that only comes out to 17,857 avg per game over the 7 home games they were sold.

According what has been published, TN get 1/2 of the Profit from the beer sales, the other 1/2 profit got to Aramark. The articles did not specify net or gross, as Aramark is the distributor-and doing well with the deal.

Hmmmm, w beer now available, wondering if anyone attempted to smuggle in some Jim or Jack??

I remember my Freshman year at UT where I'd drink a bit of my Sprite and add in some Jim. Basically, it looked like very weak iced tea.
By the time I was a senior though, I tended to pour out about half my Sprite and with the added Jim, my cup looked more like a Coca Cola.
Getting that weak coke look was imperative.

It should be illegal to price gouge at events... Oregon has a written law against it... airports, concerts, football games etc have to sell beer and other merchandise at the same rates as pubs and retail around the area do.

They lock you from exiting the stadium for four hours, then force you to pay 3 times the value of basic consumable items (not to mention they don't even have a smoking area... which is ridiculous and inconsiderate............ I don't even smoke, but I frequent games with people that do, and some of them act like they're about to die after four hours without a smoke... it doesn't take any effort to gate an area outside the stadium for smokers to do their thing without forfeiting their tickets)

They'd make just as much money with more people willing to participate in concessions and it would create an atmosphere that people aren't feeling like they're being taken advantage of... which would increase ticket sales... more sell-outs... better looks from recruits... all the things better by just setting reasonable prices and setting up reasonable things like a smoking section outside the stadium.

As far as alcohol sales goes... I don't know why it was ever not a thing? Prohibition has been gone for far too long to be concerned about these things at a college campus where tailgating is one of the major selling points... stupid rules are stupid

No one forced me to buy a beer. If an idiot wants to pay.. its his fault

It’s hilarious to me that someone could be so uptight and/or puritanical that they’d consider withholding their donation because someone spilled some beer on their kid. I mean, REALLY?

I wish I had so little to worry about that I could waste energy on something so silly. Are they afraid the kid was going to suddenly become a raging alcoholic if their skin made actual contact with some beer?:D

Beer spiller has been found. It has nothing to do with what you said. I don't want beer spilled on me much less my kids (when I was young). If you can't hold your beer, then bring a sippy cup. Your last statement is ****ing stupid.

Don't know how anyone could cast a shadow on alcohol...it's got such a great track record for empowering humankind.

Also read where I don’t care if you drink. How’s that puritanical? Just don’t spill it if you do.

Lol, it's why the ancients drank a lot of wine and beer for thirst. Many water sources like rivers. streams, and ponds were not trusted. It was and remains today pretty easy to see livestock upstream from you at the Nile for instance I've seen with my own eyes doing what livestock do, defecating and urinating in the water. Wells were okay but few and far between sometimes. But traveling in a caravan for instance, lots of wine was carried to quench thirst. The alcohol was trusted not to make you ill like a lot of the water would.

The Atlanta Falcons have it figured it out with regard to stadium pricing

In Atlanta, Concessions Prices Go Down and Revenue Goes Up
There is a difference, we have given our concessions to One third party, Aramark. They get 1/2 of the profit, gross profit or net profit? (Can't find that info). Even gross would cut UT's profit to half of what is earned. With the politico's buddies and Aramark's hold on UT's concessions/food service/staff uniforms it would be difficult to make any changes. It isn't as if there were plenty of concession stands, each one put up for bid, thus allowing for a competitive market. The Board of Regents decided they best way to go for UT was to contract with Aramark.....

For those religions that forbid the consumption of alcohol, what did they do on those caravans? Let's say from the 622A.D. onward.

Go to every game. Don’t care if you want to drink beer or not but two different idiots spilt their beer on my children. My daughter was in our other seats so I wasn’t there but the other was a lady who spilt it on my son and his friend. I had to show restraint since I was the ride home but it has me rethinking my monetary contributions because you should not have to worry about this. One time may be an aberration but twice is starting a pattern. They probably won’t miss my five figure donation but it wasn’t perfect for at least one family
Why is it something to "worry" about? You talk like hydrochloric acid was spilled on your kids. You're at a sporting event with 100,000 people crammed together. Accidents will happen. So your kids got a little beer spilled on them. It washes off you know.
