Looks like Harbaugh is headed back to the NFL

In 2021, he signed a contract thru 2025. Transfer Portal seems fair to me.

Didnt Michigan really slash his salary last year also??

If the guy was ever gonna leave without them canning him, this was the time.

They finally beat the Suckeyes. Made the playoffs for the first time.

Yeah. I get that, I do, sure. The kids signed up, tomorrow is what’s left…because it’s NSD. Maybe he’s had enough of running a college program. Fine.

The kids should get to do the same thing, no?
Is he gonna pick his brother’s pocket and get Greg Roman now?

If I were an incoming freshman’s parent, I would be let down to say the least. But all this, “it’s my dream job, only job I ever wanted, this place is home to me” BS…it’s just that…BS.

So I don’t wanna hear “they commit to the school, not the coach” crap.

Michigan will not get a better coach if JH gets the Vikings job.
It’s going to be hard to find a quality coach at this point. They’d be wise to just name Gattis the interim for the ‘22 season and give him the opportunity to earn the job. If he struggles next year then they could conduct a proper search.

Just when it finally looked like the craziest coaching carousel of all time was finished Michigan comes open. Unbelievable.
So the 2021/22 coaching carousel included:

Southern Cal
Oklahoma
Florida
LSU
Michigan
Miami
Notre Dame
Washington

All of those programs have won multiple national titles in their history. Then you had Oregon and Virginia Tech also on it. Nuts.

That’s an incredible grouping of schools.I would love to know the total # of national titles in that group.

I think I’ll probably catch flak for this, but I hope Lincoln Riley does well, Oregon improves even more and Washington gets stronger. I think for the betterment of the game the game needs to not be so regional. The PAC 12 being good will be a good thing.

According to my Wiki research skills, the claimed number looks to be 54:

Southern Cal - 11
Michigan - 11
Notre Dame - 11
Oklahoma - 7
Miami - 5
LSU - 4
Florida - 3
Washington - 2

Harbaugh isn’t that good of a coach

He took the 49ers to the SB, resurrected Stanford from the grave, and Michigan saw their first playoff appearance with JH as coach. He also appears to be a legit target for the Vikings. Why is he not a good coach? His accomplishments look pretty good to me.
